WETWANG CEPRIMARY SCHOOL'Learning and Growing in the Love of God' (1 John 4:16)

WIDER REOPENING

What a busy week. We have welcomed back Pre-school, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 pupils to our school. They have settled back remarkably well given the differences in the school day and organisation. Lots of very happy children have eagerly come in every day and we are so happy to see them back learning, spending time with friends and having fun.

HOME LEARNING

We hope that you welcomed the opportunity to speak directly with a staff member about your child's home learning. We made calls to the home of every child who is at home. Please continue to access our Classroom Secrets via the school website - Class pages - Home Learning. Should you have any queries or want a paper copy let us know and we are happy to print them for you to collect. If you child completes some work which you would like to share with the rest of the school community please email it to the office and we'll share it with their friends in class and with the whole school. It would be lovely to link the children up again more widely.

THANK YOU

I'd like to thank every child for their wonderfully positive attitude to the many changes in school. I know that it is a very different place, but the incredible staff have worked so hard to make the classrooms as normal as possible, given the new guidelines about social distancing. It is lovely to see smiles and to hear laughter in every classroom again.

Thank you also to our parents and carers who have had to adapt this strange new school with many changes. Again, I'd like to thank you for your support given that we have had to re-invent our school following the lockdown. As we told you in our plans we are re-evaluating the systems on a daily basis and we are able to welcome back our Y2/3 pupils from Monday.

You have shown your support and understanding about the changes and even though some may impact on you individually, you appreciate that the changes are to ensure that everyone in school is as safe as possible. Thank you.

QUESTIONS

Should you have any further questions about school please let us know. Our priorities at present are focussed on well-being, on re-establishing relationships and learning behaviours. If your child needs any additional support please let us know. We are happy to help.

Our attention is very much centred around transition for those children who are moving up to secondary school, on supporting new starters and on school organisation for Autumn. We will keep you updated as soon as we are able. At this stage, guidance is yet to be provided about expectations of school from the DfE or local authority.

STAY SAFE

Please enjoy your weekend and stay safe.
