RHS Students Excel at SkillsUSA State Leadership & Skills Conference
Rowland High School is proud to announce the outstanding achievements of its students at this year’s SkillsUSA State Leadership & Skills Conference. Showcasing a range of technical and leadership abilities, our students once again proved their dedication and skill by bringing home multiple medals.
Bronze Medal – Mobile Robotics Technology
Celina Poon and Eason Liu earned the Bronze Medal in Mobile Robotics Technology under the guidance of Professor Frausto, marking the third consecutive year Rowland High School has medaled in this category. This is Selena’s second year in a row receiving a medal at the state conference, and it is Eason’s second time earning a medal at state in the past three years.
Bronze Medal – Motorcycle Repair
Under the instruction of Mr. Martin in Automotive Technology, Jacob Swanson repeated his success for the second consecutive year by earning a Bronze Medal in Motorcycle Repair. His consistent performance highlights the strength of our technical education programs.
Silver Medal – Interactive Application and Video Game Development
Under the guidance of Mr. John Kim, Brian Won and Alice Chen took home the Silver Medal in the Interactive Game Design contest. Their innovative and engaging project impressed the judges and exemplified the high-caliber creativity of Rowland High students.
Gold Medal – Crime Scene Investigation
Mr. Cabot and his CSI team, comprised of Arianna Alonzo, Kaitlin Dang, and Keshia Yuu, captured the Gold Medal for the second consecutive year. Their meticulous and methodical approach has once again proven to be a winning formula. The CSI team’s victory qualifies them to represent Rowland High School at the national conference in Atlanta, Georgia this summer, where they will seek to continue their remarkable success.
Leadership - State Officers
In addition to these achievements, Rowland High School is proud to highlight the accomplishments of Amber Wu, who served as a SkillsUSA State Officer this past year in the role of State High School Reporter. Amber is the first Rowland student in many years to hold a state officer position, marking a pivotal moment for our SkillsUSA program. This year, Wan Ling Lin was elected to the SkillsUSA State Officer Team, continuing this new tradition of state-level student leadership. For the past three years, Wan Ling Lin has earned medals in Mobile Robotics Technology and will now continue her legacy of excellence through state leadership.
“It’s an honor to see our students achieve so many medals at the state level,” said Greg Perez, Principal of Rowland High School. “Their accomplishments reflect not only their own dedication and talent, but also the commitment of our faculty and staff to providing high-quality, hands-on learning experiences.”
Please join us in congratulating these exceptional students and wishing them the best as they move forward to represent Rowland High School at the SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference in Atlanta. Their achievements highlight the outstanding Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs at Rowland High School and serve as a testament to the school’s continuing tradition of excellence.
AP Psychology
This week in AP Psychology, students are diving into the topic of anxiety disorders, including social anxiety disorder. In the photo, students are completing a self-assessment to reflect on their comfort levels in social situations, helping them gain a deeper understanding of their own behavior as well as the symptoms and causes of social anxiety disorder.
