CREST In Action: Our Fifth Graders Are Leading the Way!

This year, we are making GLOBE history with our very first fifth-grade class at Lower Campus. Our fifth graders have been part of GLOBE's community for years, and now they have an exciting opportunity to show our younger scholars what CREST in Action truly looks like.

From creating classroom CREST agreements to working collaboratively and welcoming younger students into their learning, our fifth graders are already becoming important role models across campus. One class even invited a kindergartener to help them develop their own CREST expectations!

As our first-ever Lower Campus fifth graders, they will also serve as our campus seniors and have the opportunity to lead by example. We are challenging them to think about the legacy they want to leave and the example they want to set for the students who are following behind them.

CREST in Action doesn't stop at school! Families can continue the conversation at home by reminding older siblings that they are role models, too. Whether they realize it or not, younger brothers, sisters, and students are watching them. Let's encourage our scholars to lead with Community, Respect, Empathy, Sustainability, and Trust wherever they go!

GLOBE teachers participate at GADII event

Last weekend GLOBE teachers participated in the Georgia Dual Language Immersion Institute (GADII), engaging in professional learning focused on effective practices in dual language immersion. The institute provided an opportunity for teachers to learn from other DLI educators, share classroom practices, and bring back strategies for their work with GLOBE students. A special shoutout to Sr. Yulyan Anderson, MS Spanish teacher and BLT, and Ms. Sandra A. Daniel, Director of Language Program for having accepted proposals to present. Staff presenting and attending reflects our dedication to the success of DLI in Georgia.
