A Message From the Principals A Message From the Principals

Dear Bobcat Families,

It's hard to believe we're already making our way through October! The weeks seem to be flying by, and with fall conferences and all the excitement this time of year brings, we know our families are juggling busy schedules both in and out of school.

As we look ahead, we are excited to connect with many of you during fall conferences. These conversations are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate your child's progress, share insights, and continue working together to support their learning and growth.

With all the busyness of the season, fall break is coming at a great time! As a reminder, there will be no school on Friday, October 16th, and no school for students on Monday, October 19th. We hope the extended weekend gives your family a chance to slow down, recharge, and enjoy some time together.

As always, thank you for sharing your children with us each day. We hope you have a wonderful week ahead!

The survey will be open through October 16, 2026. Winning names will be selected, and families whose entries are chosen will receive an email notification.

Digital safety presentation and permission form for grades 3-5

As part of our upcoming Safety Week, Barrington Elementary School students in grades 3-5 will have the opportunity to attend digital safety presentations with expert Jesse Weinberger at the UAHS Performing Arts Center. She will provide age-appropriate presentations for students in grades 3-6 focused on digital citizenship, responsible technology use, online decision-making, and personal safety. As part of the presentation, students will be invited to complete a brief anonymous survey to provide district-level information that can help inform our ongoing digital safety education and prevention efforts.

Parents/guardians of Barrington students in grades 3-5 — please complete this permission form by October 16. Please submit one form for each participating child in grades 3-5 in your family. If you do not want your child to participate, we will provide an alternate, supervised learning activity at their school during the presentation time.

Safety Drill

We are going to complete a Safety Drill at Barrington Elementary School the week of Oct. 12th - Oct. 15th. We will work in cooperation with the Upper Arlington Schools Resource Officers, Upper Arlington Police Department and other safety officials to make the drill a success.

Prior to the drill, we will go over expectations for the safety drill during class. While students will know this is a drill, we take the safety and security of our students and staff very seriously and this safety drill is an important step to establish a safe, respectful and caring environment in our building. We encourage you to speak to your students, that if they see something, that they should say something to a staff member, SRO, cook, custodian or other trusted adult. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Thank you for your support and helping us to make Barrington a safe and kind place to be.
