Hazel Owens Elementary

We had a great week of Benchmark testing. I'm looking forward to analyzing our performance and creating plans with our teachers on how to best serve your students moving forward.

Reminder that PTA is decorating Owens for Christmas tomorrow from 10 AM - 2 PM. We'd love to have as many helping hands as possible.

I hope you all have a wonderful and restful Thanksgiving break! I will send out a more detailed newsletter next weekend with upcoming events.

Upcoming Events:

• November 19 - Deck The Halls, 10 AM-2 PM
• November 21-25 - Thanksgiving Break
• November 28 - Kona Ice (School Fundraiser)
• December 1 - Christmas Portraits (More Info Below)

Y'all have a wonderful weekend!

As the second semester rolls around we are looking to employee a number of part-time individuals who would be willing to pull small groups of students for targeted intervention. You would be assigned to one or more grade level teams and provided a schedule and curriculum to follow from our teachers.

This is a flexible opportunity that can work around your schedule. You could work as few as 2 hours a week or as many as 30 . There will be a screening process and you would have to register as a "substitute" with the district.

If this sounds like something you're interested in learning more about we will hold an informational meeting the week after Thanksgiving. Please register for that meeting using this link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeM6X1e7XSOJ9cfg8wlyd9YBa_tCC4KE6MzSTlqmwP2512ssQ/viewform

I have started highlighting students who are being successful in their extra curriculars outside of school on the morning announcements. If you ever snap a video of your child doing something exceptional at sports, dance, gymnastics, music, church, or in the community please share it with me so I can highlight them for exemplifying the 7 Habits outside of school. Keep videos to under 30 seconds. You can submit it above in the blue "submit pictures of your students" button.
