Principal's Corner
Hello FamiLEE,
Progress reports went home yesterday in 3rd block. Please review your child's grades and let us know if there's anything we can do to support your child. The end of the semester is quickly approaching and we want to do everything we can to ensure your child passes their classes so they are on track for next semester.
Please send excuse notes to LHS.Attendance@hsv-k12.org. We are working hard to meet our goal of a 95% attendance rate. Please help us with this effort. We need to get back up to 95%.
Our magnet window is open. If you know someone interested in applying, please send them the information in this newsletter. We want to grow our FamiLEE!!!
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Kitrise Torain
LHS Principal

Announcements
- Attention FamiLEE! The boys and girls soccer teams are selling bedsheets for a fundraiser this year. Click here for more information!
- Attention Parents & Guardians! Every Tuesday through Friday, we have FamiLEE time between 11:30am-12:15pm. This is a time when students can get help from their teachers or attend clubs. If your student is struggling or needs to get help from their teacher, please see the schedule of teacher office hours below and encourage your child to attend!
- The HCS Career and Technical Education (CTE) application is open November 15, 2024 through January 17, 2025. The application is for current 9th-11th grade HCS students who wish to attend a CTE travel program during the 2025-2026 school year. Students and families will need to log in with the student's HCS/Clever email accounts to be able to access the CTE Application. For any application-related questions, please reach out to the CTE Counselor for help.
Shout-Outs
- Shout-out to our Freshmen of the Week from this week! London Hobbs comes to us from AAA Middle. Here at Lee she is in the dance magnet and is also on the auxiliary team. In her spare time she likes to be at home and practice dancing. When she graduates from high school she wants to become a marketing manager or go into real estate. Her favorite teacher at Lee is Ms. Trayvick because she is inspirational and she helps her with her craft. Ariel Tapaha comes to us from online school by way of Williams Middle. Here at Lee she is in the visual arts magnet and is involved in SGA. In her spare time she likes to study and clean her room. When she graduates from high school she would like to go into coding and computer engineering or be a biologist. Her favorite teachers at Lee is Ms. Smith because she tries to understand her students and she tries to fix your problems. Her other favorite teacher is Ms. Radowski because she is nice and honest about what she has to say and is also understanding. Congratulations to both of them for representing our FamiLEE values so well!
- Shout-out to Lee High School Junior Laila Mackey for representing LHS on a student panel at the The Schools Foundation professional development for principals yesterday! She represented the FamiLEE very well!!
