A word from the PTA Board A word from the PTA Board

How is your October marathon going?!? Hopefully, during these first seven weeks of school, you have found time to witness the massive growth your student has had so far. In such a short time, our school has created lasting memories through field trips, assemblies, Nest, and just this past week, 4th Graders put their learning into practice through a hands-on exploration of the Heart! The learning and the character development in our students has been outstanding. We know it doesn't come without its own bumps and if there are ways the PTA can help, please reach out. The PTA Board is here to offer support where needed.

Bingham Boo

This past Friday, we welcomed over 800 of our closest friends and neighbors to the Bingham Boo! Our favorite fall family event was a true testament of how dedicated volunteers and partners can come together to support our school in a spooktacular way. Thank you to our planning committee, the over 120 volunteers, the nearly 200 Trick or Treat Trail Donations, the staff for donating awesome raffle prizes, and each one of you who lent a hand along the way. Cotton Candy was spun, Witch's Brew was drank, and coins were flowing!!!

Your support helped raise significant funds for our PTA to put back into our school Thank you for being a part of making this year's event a huge success!

Birmingham Schools Open Houses

In Birmingham Public Schools we have a lot of great options as our students move up grades. In the coming months we encourage you to take your students to Open House events to help inspire them for where they are headed next following their time in Bingham Farms. These Open Houses are free to the public and it is also fun to think, in just 1, 3, 8 years I'll be there on stage, in the pool, or testing that experiment. All Birmingham Schools have a unified curriculum, so it is a great idea to visit schools that you are interested in to see which culture and offerings are a good fit for your student.

A special thank you to Sara Grezlik for joining our October PTA meeting to share resources from Birmingham's Friends of Different Learners. A team of dedicated parents and supporters is available to help you on the IEP/504 Journey, answer questions, and provide information to help your family.

Nominations are being accepted to highlight BPS staff members that help make our students excel in the classroom and through support services. Help us celebrate our outstanding Bingham Farms staff!

Lions Leadership Academy

A special thanks to the PTA for sponsoring a school-wide assembly with the Detroit Lions Leadership Academy. Roary started off his day by teaching Lucky how not to spill his secret location. Then Roary shared tips on the importance of learning, healthy lifestyles, being dedicated, and encouraging others.

BoxTops for Education

If you, a grandparent, aunt, uncle, want an easy way to earn some money for the school. Consider Box Tops for Education. Long gone are the days of clipping box tops. Just download the app, select our school and snap a photo of each receipt when you shop. So far this year, we've raised over $57 just from 8 people snapping pics. Since we've started, those dimes have added up to over $12,000 raised! Will your next box of cereal be the one that wins us the $500 sweepstakes?

Teacher Gifts

With all the Prime Days and other shopping deals out there, we want to share that Bingham Farms will once again be offering GiftCrowd for teacher and staff gifts. Information will come out in November. This is a way to contribute to a larger group gift card for each staff person and is their preferred gift. Stay tuned for more details.

Volunteer iChat Form - MUST DO!

We love school volunteers throughout the year. If you plan on helping out at school or visiting a classroom as a guest reader, a new iChat form must be completed annually and will be kept on file for the 2025/2026 school year. Once you complete the form, you can email it to sallen2@birmingham.k12.mi.us or drop it off in the school office.

PTA Membership Directory

We invite all our families to participate in our Membership Directory. Within the PTA Membership Toolkit there is a school-wide Directory. This is the best spot to look for contact info for meet-ups, party invitations, and the name and number for "Luke's Mom".

Seriously, the other day he came home with, "Mom I need a play date with ___, I have his number written down..." it was five numbers, nothing else. 🤦🏻‍♀️(Cue Membership Directory)

Box Tops for Education

A great way to support the school is through Box Top$ for Education. Long gone are the days of clipping the barcodes of cereal boxes or soup labels. Download the app, select Bingham Farms Elementary, and each time you shop at the grocery scan your receipt. It will auto calculate the donation and send it to our school! It is easy, and you don't need to know which food or supplies qualify for credit - the app checks for you. Now download that app while you wait for the bus, or in the pick-up gathering zone. Thanks for supporting our school, and be sure to share with friends and family too!
