💜 Happy Fall, Pirate Families! 🏴‍☠️🍂

I hope your kiddos enjoyed the last week of October! We had so much fun with our Red Ribbon Week dress-up days and ended the week with our Halloween Dance! But now it's time to buckle down and get back to work! (I know...not nearly as exciting as dressing up and dancing!)

Just a quick reminder that we offer after-school tutoring every Monday and Wednesday from 4:00–5:00 PM. If your student is struggling with assignments, missing work, or just needs a little extra help, PLEASE take advantage of this opportunity! We have teachers available to help, and it's amazing how much students can get done when they have a little extra support and fewer distractions. We want to see every Pirate succeed!

👶 Calling All 8th Grade Parents — We Need Baby Pictures!

It's that time of year! We need you to send us your 8th grader's baby picture for the yearbook!

You know...a picture from back when they were little, cute, and didn't talk back! 😂 JUST KIDDING! (Well...kind of!)

Please email your student's baby picture to Mr. Larson at alarson@minidokaschools.org.

I've included my own baby picture for reference. This is actually one of only TWO baby pictures I have of myself! Maybe I should email it to my parents to remind them of a time when I was little, cute, and not quite so opinionated! 😂 I'm sure they would appreciate the reminder!

🤼 Come Support Our Pirate Wrestlers!

Our wrestlers have their FIRST HOME WRESTLING MEET this Wednesday at 4:30 PM! We would love to see our Pirate families come out and support them!

This year, I am determined to finally figure out how wrestling works. I have mastered the part where the winner gets their hand raised at the end, but I'm still a little lost on exactly WHY someone gets awarded points! 😂

Hopefully, I'm not the only one who gets a little confused watching wrestling! But here's what I do know: Our kids don't care if we understand every rule or not. They just LOVE seeing familiar faces in the stands cheering them on!

So come out, cheer loudly, and help us show our wrestlers some Pirate Pride!

💜 It Takes a Village!

As always, thank you for everything you do, Pirate Parents! I know it takes a village to raise these kiddos, and I am so glad we get to be part of your village!

Thank you for trusting us with your kids, supporting our school, and helping us make East Minico such a great place to be. We truly couldn't do it without you!

Here's to a great November, a little less Halloween candy, and a lot more learning!
