R.C. Edwards December Update

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving break! Only 13.5 school days until winter break!

I could not be more proud of our students and teachers - we showed tremendous i-Ready growth in both Reading and Math! It's a group effort this year, with every teacher in the building helping on ELA and Math flex days.

Thanks to everyone who donated to our holiday food drive. RCE donated over 2,500 pounds of food to our communities. 6th grade won the competition and earned extra recess before break.

• 6th grade = 1,499 items
• 7th grade = 821 items
• 8th grade = 631 items

Many high school credit courses will hold exams before Winter Break. Please take note of the dates for each.

Exciting news! Every 8th grader and their parent/guardian will attend an Individual Graduation Plan (IGP) meeting hosted by our guidance department. Be on the lookout for signups in January.

There will be a Chick-fil-A biscuit sale on Friday, December 12th. This is a change from December 5th, due to weather. Biscuits are $5 in the car line and bus loop. Proceeds will benefit the 7th Grade field trip.

Our spirit week will be held December 15-19! We look forward to seeing everyone dressed up on the last week before break.

The School District of Pickens County is now offering virtual volunteer training for those interested in volunteering in Pickens County schools. All volunteers must complete volunteer training every school year. To complete the training process, go to the website linked here and scroll to the bottom of the page and complete the six steps. After completion, you will receive an email confirmation. If you have any questions, please email ErinAllen@pickens.k12.sc.us.
