He’s got serious skills! Fox Hill Elementary student Tian Ai has mastered the abacus – an ancient tool still blowing minds today. His talent even earned him a top spot at a national competition! Teachers say his focus and resilience inspire everyone around him.

This summer we are getting some updates to Fox Hill and we couldn't be more excited about it. In order to get everything complete before the start of next school year, construction crews have started working in our building at night. So far, they have torn out our ceilings, floors, and a few bathrooms. They will be gradually replacing the floors in April and May and will do the bigger bathroom projects, lights, paint and other items over the summer. For now, please excuse our dust as they work to improve and update Fox Hill!

Due to construction taking place at Fox Hill this summer, our summer school will be at Nashua Elementary during the month of June.

In 2025, the June session will be offered four days per week, following this schedule:

• • Week 1: Tuesday, June 3 – Friday, June 6
  • Week 2: Monday, June 9 – Thursday, 12
  • Week 3: Monday, June 16, Tuesday, June 17, Wednesday, June 18, Friday, June 20
    • Thursday, June 19 is a holiday (Juneteenth) with no summer school. Friday, June 20 will be a virtual attendance day for students and teachers in summer school.
  • Week 4: Monday, June 23 – Thursday, June 26

Fox Hill's Summer School Hours: 9:20 a.m. – 3:20 p.m.

Directions on how to enroll your child in summer school:

• Parents and guardians may enroll students for summer programming beginning Monday, March 17, 2025, through Friday, May 23, 2025.
• Summer School takes an "everybody rises" approach. For example, if your child completes 1st grade this spring, they will be considered a 2nd-grade student for summer school.
• It is important to note that if your child completes 5th grade, 6th grade, or 8th grade this spring, they will transition to the next grade level and their new building for summer programming.

Incoming Kindergarten students have an opportunity to enroll in our Kickoff to Kindergarten (K2K) summer school program to learn all about Fox Hill. This includes the school routines and expectations. Enrollment is now open and the deadline to enroll is Friday, May 9th. Please complete the enrollment attachment below.

K2K is a little different than regular summer school as it is offered in two 2-week sessions. On the enrollment form, please select your preference of session or no preference.

• Session One: June 3-6 & June 9-12
• Session Two: June 16-19 & June 23-26

If the child has not been in our district (not in any district preschool program OR never been involved in the “parents as teachers” program):

If the child HAS been in our district preschool and/or involved in the “parents as teachers” program :

• You will need to wait until the district opens the “returning students for 2025-2026” link (around July)
• Log into Power School parent portal (if you have not already done this you will need to get your child’s access ID and password from the school they are at now)
• On the list of options on the left side of the screen, click on returning student registration

ALL Kindergarteners need the following items turned into the office. (Even if you have submitted this to the NKC preschool, we will need updated information. Sorry for any inconvenience!) You can email these documents to jenna.hibbard@nkcschools.org

• Birth Certificate
• Immunizations
• Proof of Residency:
• Mortgage / Lease document
• Current utility bill
