CVUSD Celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month CVUSD Celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month

National Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrated from September 15 to October 15, is a time to honor the achievements, contributions, histories, traditions, and cultural diversity of Hispanic/Latino/Latinx Americans have made to our nation and society.

At the Wednesday, August 14, 2024 Board of Education Meeting, Resolution #24/25-01 In Support of National Hispanic Heritage Month was approved. The Board of Education for the CVUSD encourages educators, students, and families to celebrate this year’s National Hispanic Heritage Month’s theme, “Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together,” by educating students on the culture (literature, art, music, dance), languages, traditions, cuisine, and positive contributions Hispanic, Latino and Latinx Americans have made in our country, district, and community. We dig it 🚧👷🏗️! Thanks to Measure I, construction of a new Student Pavilion is underway at Redwood Middle School. This outdoor space on the Redwood campus is in the process of being transformed into a beautiful new student-centered area that will feature a shaded lunch and assembly area. It will also incorporate the MPR stage, which will open to the outdoor Pavilion space. This will give our Vikings an enhanced central gathering point to meet and host schoolwide events, performances and celebrations. Thank you Measure I, the voter-approved school facilities bond, for enhancing our school communities!
