West Bridgewater District Newsletter
Hello WB Students, Staff, and Families,
It is hard to believe we only have 20 more school days left in the 2024-2025 school year. A reminder that the last day of school is scheduled for Friday, June 13th. This is a half day of school at all schools. We will be sending out a final district newsletter in June. In this newsletter, we aim to provide you with key information about what’s happening in each of our schools and across the district. We hope you find it helpful and engaging. As always, if you have any comments or thoughts, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Enjoy the newsletter!

Aspen Updates
Earlier this year, we rolled out the new mobile-friendly version of Aspen, called Aspen Go, to all family and student users. This new version makes navigating the Aspen platform much easier if you are using a mobile device, such as a phone or a tablet. In the coming weeks, additional functionality will be added to Aspen Go, including Online Student Registration. This workflow will allow you to register your child for school without leaving the mobile view. If you have pictures of registration documents saved to your camera roll, you can now easily upload them right from your phone.
Later this summer, we will release the Back to School Forms in Go, where you can verify your contact info, add/remove contacts and sign off on items such as the student handbook, chromebook policy, and more. Be on the lookout for updated tutorials in the coming weeks on our website!

News from the Nurses
Medication Pick-Up Information from the Nurses:
The end of the school year is quickly approaching! All unused medications must be picked up by the last day of school. Medications not picked up will be discarded by the end of June.
Unless your child has current permission to self-carry their medication, the school cannot allow your child to bring the medication home themselves. If you need to make special arrangements to pick up medication, please contact your building’s school nurse.
Important information to keep in mind for next school year:
- New medication forms for both prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medications must be signed every year by a healthcare provider and parent/guardian.
- Medication must remain in the properly labeled pharmacy or original OTC container.
- Parents/guardians are responsible for having the medication delivered directly to the school in a properly labeled original container by an adult.
- Standing order medication with parent consent is available at MSHS (ibuprofen, acetaminophen, tums, benedryl) and Howard (acetaminophen) only.
Medication forms are available on the district website or may be obtained from your school’s Health Office. Your healthcare provider may use their own form, if desired.

MSBA Elementary School Project Update
At the April 8th meeting the School Building Committee (SBC) discussed several things including reviewing the Howard School site as an option and the grade configuration option of K-6. The approved vote was for a K-6 new construction project at the Rose L MacDonald site. This does mean that PreK will remain at the Spring Street School and we will also be evaluating the Howard School as well. There will be many more discussions about PreK in the future as well as the potential plans for the Howard School.

End of Year Surveys - We Value Your Feedback
In June, each school building will be sending out end-of-year surveys to all staff and families. This is an important opportunity for us, as an administrative team, to gather meaningful feedback from our school community.
The survey will include opportunities for you to share what you feel is going well—highlighting our strengths—as well as areas where we can grow and improve. Your input will help guide our planning at both the building and district levels.
We truly value your voice and encourage everyone to take a few minutes to complete the survey when it becomes available. Your feedback plays a critical role in shaping the future of our schools.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support!

Multilingual Learners Department
May has been an exciting month for the ML Department! WIDA ACCESS Scores were returned, and many of our students are showing significant growth in their English Language proficiency! We are proud of their hard work, and of their confidence as they navigate academics in multiple languages! Our students at RLM demonstrated their learning during the 3rd grade Wax Museum, and some second graders had tons of fun role playing aspects of Civil Rights Law origins.
We also had another very successful ML Family Night! We were joined by the cultural organization, Mass Capoeira, who led an interactive demonstration of the traditional Brazilian Martial Arts dance. We also enjoyed a musical performance from two of our graduating Seniors. Miskeycha Lazarre and Nick Jerome. Their singing and piano were beautiful and captivating! As always, we enjoyed food, mingling and fun with all of the families who attended! We are already in planning mode for the Fall!
Our ML students put in great effort in Mrs. Pope's Physical Science class, mastering challenging concepts through engaging hands-on activities, simulations, and comprehensive notes that incorporate visual aids for better understanding. In these photos, they’re building paper roller coasters as part of the Energy Unit, applying their learning in a fun and creative way.
