Redistricting: Creating a Long-Term Plan for Excellence and Equity in Education
Hello West Seneca Families,
We hope everyone is doing well and that 2025 is off to a great start for you!
Our Redistricting Committee met on Thursday, January 16th. Additionally, there was a small "slice" group that met separately on January 30th to look deeper into the great work that the whole group has been doing. Ultimately, all work done in the slice group will be presented to the whole group on February 13th.
The following sections will provide you with the links(in the form of buttons) to the whole group meeting agenda, presentation & minutes, as well as the slice group meeting minutes. All of these will be here and on our website to read through at your leisure.
We have also included a section at the bottom with helpful links that include a "FAQ" section based upon questions we have received. We have recently revamped the presentation of this that will publish live as we moderate them. Thank you for continuing to send those questions in... we will not be answering them directly, per se, but instead we are busy making sure all of the FAQs provide clarity to our community. So, please don't be afraid to ask your question, because chances are, if you have a question, someone else probably has that same question.

Redistricting Committee Meeting - 1/16/2025
As previously mentioned, the Redistricting Committee had their meeting on 1/16/2025.
The committee reviewed & discussed repositioning options for our Middle Schools. As well as, the posed question of "What would Elementary Schools look like if we didn't without increases in staffing?". Another interesting topic they worked hard on was the current district East/West divider lines using Union Rd...what would a Northwest to Southeast divide look like?
(*It should be noted that the authority to change School District boundaries rests with the NYS Commissioner of Education; it is not something our Redistricting Committee or Board of Education has the authority to do. For example: If some of you reading this technically live in Cheektowaga - we cannot suddenly send you to Cheektowaga Schools.)

We encourage your questions* regarding redistricting and would like to continue building a FAQ on our website that is updated as questions come to us during the course of our redistricting process. As such, we have designated a district email address for you to send those to. We will not be answering those questions via email, they will be posed and answered on our FAQ.
