Whitehouse News - March 2026

Greetings!
March 2026: A Message from Dr. DeRosa...
Read Across America Week!
Dear WHS Families,
In honor of Read Across America Week, we are proudly celebrating literacy & the joy of reading! Our school kicked-off the festivities with a tribute to Dr. Seuss’s birthday by participating in DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) time, giving students and staff a special moment to pause while enjoying good books. Dr. Hart also spent time at WHS sharing some of his favorite picture books with students. We continued the fun with Storybook Character Day, where the halls came alive with beloved literary characters brought to life by both students and staff members. As the perfect finishing touch, the HSA sponsored an engaging laser light show that highlighted the excitement and power of reading.

Getting Inspired by Mrs. Yukniewicz's Class!
As a sports enthusiast, Mrs. Yukniewicz always appreciated the power of motivational speeches for athletes. She kept that in mind when she adapted that concept and created her rendition of an academic pep talk that she recites with her students. Click here to listen to the children in her classroom...and get your tissues ready because it chokes me up each time I listen to it 💞💞
Celebrating 100 Days of Learning🍎
Celebrating 100 days of school is a joyful milestone for both teachers and students. It’s a wonderful way to reflect on learning, build classroom community, and have fun with creative, hands-on activities centered on the number, 100. The school was buzzing with engaging and whimsical ideas to represent the auspicious occasion, including dressing up like 100-year-olds!
Laugh Factory Assembly!
Students were treated to an entertaining assembly and magic show all in one, just for fun! The HSA generously sponsored The Laugh Factory, bringing excitement, audience participation, and plenty of laughter to our school. The interactive performance kept students captivated from start to finish, making it a memorable experience for everyone involved.
