Welcome to the 2026-27 School Year
🎉 Chelsea Public Schools opened its doors to its Grade 1-12 students this week! Students across the district returned to classrooms to reunite with friends and get started on another year of learning and growth! 🎉
First Days of School!
The Hooks Elementary School teachers and staff kicked off the new year in style with a welcome back video for our students. It captures the essence and excitement felt during this year's World Cup of Soccer which resembles the same excitement felt as we return for another amazing year at the Hooks! We are ready!!!!!
Also at the Hooks, First Grade has been working hard and having a blast starting their morning routines! We've been playing name games, sharing so many of our favorite things to get to know each other, and even getting started on our handwriting practice.
And in Room 106 is starting the year off strong making our class rules into a promise bracelet! We are committed to having the best year yet!
We are so excited for an amazing year together at the Hooks!
At the Early Learning Center, STEM Coach Kristen Rampino welcomed our first-grade students and introduced them to our inspirational “Be Kind” bulletin board, demonstrating how they can use it to spread kindness throughout our school community.
Teachers and Staff Start the Year Strong!
With New Teacher Orientation, Professional Development sessions and all staff returning to buildings, the recent weeks have seen CPS teachers and staff return with positivity and excitement for the school year!
At The Kelly School, educators “put on their student hats” and experienced productive struggle by reading and answering questions about an MCAS passage — in an unfamiliar language! — and by thinking logically on some Pips puzzles. They then reflected on how designing those tasks helped them sustain productive struggle, and how they can build “accessible rigor” into their students’ learning experiences!
At the Morris H. Seigal Clark Avenue Middle School, educators returned to school and gathered to complete community-building activities!
The Berkowitz Elementary School welcomed families and students to school on Tuesday afternoon, before the first day, for an Ice Cream Social! Students were able to meet their teachers, visit classrooms, and enjoy ice cream.
At the Sokolowski School, staff may have had a little too much fun during Opening Days! Through a schoolwide scavenger hunt, we spent time getting to know one another, welcoming our new Sharks, and getting excited about the amazing year ahead for our students, families, and ourselves.
CPS staff at 77 Webster Avenue helped celebrate the new school year with a potluck breakfast!
Back to School Celebration
CPS hosted another wonderful Back to School Celebration on Wednesday, August 19. Students and families gathered to not only celebrate the start of a new school year, but to showcase all the resources and support systems available to our youth and families in Chelsea.
A shout out to our Family Liaison team for organizing the event and all the educators, school staff and community partners who supported the event.
Thank you to our Family Liaisons!
