No ELTs Wednesday (10/28) or Friday (10/30)
ELT Clubs are CANCELLED this week Wednesday, October 28th and Friday, October 30th so students may attend the Halloween Dance on Wednesday and 50 Fest on Friday. Tuesday and Thursday ELTs will continue as normal.
Halloween Dance Wednesday
The Halloween Dance is this week Wednesday! It will begin immediately after school until 4:30PM. This is a great opportunity for students to dress up and have fun with their friends! Students must stay in the school building if they wish to participate in the dance. Students may leave the dance at any time, but once students leave the building they will not be allowed to re-enter.
Students are welcome to wear costumes to school and the dance but they must:
- Be appropriate for middle school
- Not cover the face (no masks)
- Have no fake weapons
- Not be inflatable
The PTA is also seeking donations of snacks and drinks for the dance. Thank you to everyone who has already purchased items! You can still bring donations directly to the school and drop them off with Ms. Edda in the main office.
Healthy Smiles Dental Cleanings
Next month we will be hosting Healthy Smiles for our annual dental cleanings for all students on Friday, November 6th. These dental cleanings are free to all students, no insurance information is required. Please fill out the link below by Friday, October 30th if you want your student to be seen.
If you are experiencing any technical difficulties, we will be sending home paper copies with all of our 6th graders tomorrow. 7th and 8th graders, if consent was given in a prior year you should be all set, but please send Jeremy Soto (jeremysoto@elpuente.org) or JD Smith (jdsmith@elpuente.org) an email if you need additional support.
Classroom Spotlight: First Marking Period Ends Friday
As we approach the end of the first marking period on Friday, October 30, we want to recognize the hard work, growth, and accomplishments of all our students. We are incredibly proud of their dedication and perseverance throughout the marking period.
We encourage families to regularly check Jupiter and review their child's progress. Your support and encouragement can make a meaningful difference as students work to finish the marking period strong and demonstrate all they have learned. If you need login information for Jupiter, please fill out a short form to let us know.
Looking ahead, Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on November 12. This will be an important opportunity to meet with your child's teachers, discuss their progress and performance during the first marking period, and work together to set goals and identify next steps for continued academic success throughout the year.
Remote Learning on Election Day
All New York City Public Schools will be in session remotely on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3rd. At MS 50, students will be following their traditional daily schedule and meeting with their teachers in Zoom virtual "classrooms," similar to the experience of meeting with teachers during Parent-Teacher Conferences. We will provide students with more instructions closer to Election Day, but you can view our webpage now at ms50.org/remote for an overview of the process.
