THE PRINCIPAL CHRONICLES THE PRINCIPAL CHRONICLES

JOSH MILLER

The Principal Chronicles continue ...

We have finally made it to Spring Break. I think I say this too much, but it feels like the year has just flown by. Maybe it is because we basically skipped all of winter, but still. Here at school, we are prepping for April, which is basically testing month. We start off with our state mandated testing or CMAS and then nearly right after that, we move into our District mandated testing or iReady. It is a long month and fairly stressful for our students. They will be prepped and ready but it is still a lot of testing all at once.

On the home front, my one and only is coming home for the second half of this week. It will be a great chance for me to light some money on fire and see what she has been up to. It has actually been a minute since we have had a chance to hang out. For her actual Spring break, she is going to her Uncle's (on her Mom's side) wedding in Costa Rica. I am sure she is going to have a good time and I wish I knew someone getting married in Costa Rica. Have you ever noticed that you never get invites to weddings in Mongolia? Speaking of not that, my sister and her husband are going to Mongolia a little later in the Spring. Why are they going to Mongolia, you ask? I have no earthly idea. I don't even know what the attraction might be that would cause someone to say, "Hmm, you know, where would be an awesome place to go? Mongolia". What I do know, is that when they get back, I will have to sit through at least an hour (if not more) of pictures of their trip - not counting the 45 minutes it is going to take for my parents and sister to figure out how to project the slides.

Besides my sister taking a trip to faraway ... My parents are also going to Costa Rica. Yes, these are the same parents who said about five vacations ago that they are not going on vacations anymore. Apparently, they are going to be staying in a cabin that is located in the canopy of the jungle. Yes, a literal treehouse and yes, these are my 81 year old parents who think it is a really good idea to take not one, but three connecting flights as well as a small plane ride. And to top it all off, they are taking a jeep out to this jungle treehouse. How are they getting up to said treehouse? I have no clue as they don't have any stairs in their own house, but they are thinking they are just going to walk up to the top of the jungle canopy? By the way, in case you are not familiar with a jungle canopy, that is where a lot of the wildlife of Costa Rica lives. I would not be surprised if my parents woke up to multiple monkeys just hanging out in their treehouse living room. On top of that, apparently, the entire resort is located up in the trees. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I don't get the emergency phone call that "my parents fell out of a tree" ... because you know that call is coming to ME since I am pretty confident there aren't any phones in Mongolia.

That is it for this week's episode, stay tuned for after Spring break when the Principal Chronicles continue ...
