A Letter From Our Assistant Principal
Dear Upper Darby Kindergarten Center Families,
As we enter the month of December, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible growth we have already seen in our kindergarten students. Their curiosity, kindness, and enthusiasm brighten our halls each day, and we are grateful for the support you provide at home to help them thrive.
Season of Giving:
This month, our students will be participating in lessons and activities focused on gratitude, empathy, and kindness. We encourage families to continue these conversations at home, helping children understand the importance of giving and caring for others.
Winter Spirit Week:
We will be celebrating with themed days to bring joy and excitement to the school community. Be on the lookout for a flyer with complete details.
Literacy & Math Growth:
Our teachers are continuing to build foundational reading and math skills. This is a great time to read together at home, practice letter sounds, explore numbers, and engage in simple counting activities.
Reminders for the Winter Season
Please make sure your child comes to school with appropriate winter clothing: coats, hats, and gloves.
Label all outerwear so we can easily return lost items.
In the event of delayed openings or weather-related changes, updates will be communicated through district announcements.
Looking Ahead
As we prepare to close out 2025 and approach the new year, I want to thank you for your partnership and trust. Our students continue to amaze us every day, and we look forward to a winter filled with learning, creativity, and growth.
Wishing you all a warm, joyful, and peaceful holiday season!
With appreciation,
Moe Qasem

Student of the Month
We celebrated the students of the month, who were chosen for being safe and performing kind acts in their classroom community.
Pumpkin Fun Has Begun!
Our ELL students learned about the lifecycle of a pumpkin and they were able to plant their own pumpkin seeds! Once the seeds begin to sprout, they will be sent home with them to continue to watch them grow!
Kindness Looks Good on Us!
Mrs. Shaw and a student from Mrs. Pedone's class were kindness twins during Red Ribbon Week!
How Can You Be Kind?
Students in Ms. Ghanayem's class used their artistic skills to create a kindness quilt! Each student drew something they could do to be kind to others. When they were finished, Ms. Ghanayem pieced together the quilt and hung it in the hallway for students to see!
A Hauntingly Good Time at School!
Take a look at the creative costumes are students dressed in for our annual costume parade, AND some other fun fall activities!
