Hendrickson High School
Message from Principal Grebb:
Next week, we have a surprise in store for our students—no tricks, just treats! On October 31st, we will have an early release day. Please see the bell schedule below for details. Students will attend all their A Day classes, each shortened to 55 minutes. At 1:00 pm, we’ll begin releasing students, who can either head home or grab lunch before leaving. Classes on the upper floor will be dismissed at 1:00 pm, followed by those on the first floor at 1:10 pm. Busses will depart Hendrickson at 1:35 pm.
We have another treat there will be no school on Friday, November 1st. We encourage all registered voters in our community to participate in the upcoming election on November 5th. Early voting has seen impressive turnout, and we hope that with some extra time off next week, eligible students, staff, and parents will take the opportunity to vote. Remember, early voting is open until November 1st, so be sure to make a plan to cast your ballot. For polling locations and wait times, visit: https://votetravis.gov/current-election-information/current-election/
Finally, I am pleased to announce that over 500 of our students had perfect attendance during the 1st nine week. I appreciate the dedication and commitment to students education here at Hendrickson. I know that all of these students are in a good position academically. If you didn't have perfect attendance here is your chance to turn it around.

See Something, Say Something
The Anonymous Alerts is an anti-bullying and safety app reporting system that helps combat bullying and other negative activity in schools by empowering students to speak up. Social and peer pressure are some of the hardest obstacles for students to overcome. Students or parents can submit reports such as bullying, cyber bullying, depression, dating violence, drug or alcohol use, threats against the school, weapons on campus, and more.
The system allows for 1-way or 2-way anonymous encrypted communications between the submitters (students, parents, or community members) and District administration and/or school staff. Users of the system have the option to remain anonymous or reveal their identity when submitting a report.

Save the Date
Save the date! Freshman parents; on Wednesday November 13th, the HHS Counseling Team is excited to invite you to a one-hour presentation that will provide helpful guidance for freshman students as they navigate high school.
We will cover important topics such as graduation requirements, STAAR EOC tests, endorsements, GPA, attendance, and tips for staying organized. This is a great opportunity for parents and guardians to learn how to support their student’s success and future goals. The event will be held in the HHS Cafeteria and will begin at 6:15 PM.
We hope to see you there!
Field of Flags
We will host our 2nd Annual Hawk Nation Field of Flags to honor Hawk Veterans along with veterans in the community on Wednesday November 13th, 2024 at 8:30 AM.
Our campus must raise at least $250.00 to get 24 flags. If we raise $500, we will get 48 flags and so on. We invite you to donate in memory or in honor of a veteran here. For any questions, you can reach out to Ms. Alvarado: clarissa.alvarado@pfisd.net
Thank you!

Underclassmen Photos
Retakes for underclassmen pictures is on November 13 during Talon and all lunches in the library. If your student missed picture day or needs a re-take, make sure they go to the library some time during this time. They will not be called out of class.
Senior Portraits
262 seniors still need to set up an appointment for their senior portrait.
To have your senior's portrait included in the yearbook, they must have your picture taken by Cady Photography no later than December 2.
The portrait for the yearbook is outfit of choice--basically, wear something nice. Cady will also do a cap and gown shot at that time.
You can choose the free yearbook only or pay a fee for more poses, backgrounds, and outfits.
Portraits can be taken either at their studio in Cedar Park or on campus on November 21 or 22.
Whether you have the portraits done on campus or in the studio, you have to go onto the website and make an appointment.
The website is Cady.com
If you have any questions or need help making appointment, please come by E211 or email kari.riemer@pfisd.net
I am happy to help any senior set up an appointment. Just have them stop by E211
