Student Engagement Survey for Grades 2 - 4
The Student School Engagement Survey for students in 2nd-4th grade is Dec. 2 - Dec. 16.
There are two surveys: 1) School Survey (20? questions) and 2) Classroom Survey (7 questions)
1) The School Engagement Survey is taken only once by each student. Please remind students we are asking them to respond to the questions reflecting on their experiences for the entire year to date, not simply the last week or month.
Here is the Script and Slidedeck that has been used previously to help deploy the survey.
The survey link to the school engagement survey are easily accessible on the Library Online Resources webpage.
2) The Classroom Engagement Survey is a 7 Question Survey. It is taken by each student per classroom teacher and with each specials/encore teacher - using the code provided in the Dec email. The survey links to the classroom engagement survey are easily accessible on the Library Online Resources webpage.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Guidelines
Please familiarize yourself with the complete AI Guidelines for staff and students. These guidelines are viewable on the district webpage for students and families to reference.
Guidelines to highlight:
Ethical Responsible AI Use
As educators and staff, we play a vital role in shaping the future by modeling ethical and responsible use of AI. This involves being transparent about how and when we use AI tools, properly crediting AI-generated content, and ensuring that all material aligns with our educational objectives and standards. Protecting confidentiality is crucial—never enter sensitive data into AI tools, including student records, employee information, or any personally identifiable details. Our actions serve as a model for students; what we do speaks louder than what we say.
Tool Approval and Age-Appropriate Use
To maintain safety and security, staff members are only permitted to use AI tools that have been thoroughly vetted and approved by MNSD. These selected tools have met strict district standards regarding privacy, security, and confidentiality, and comply with applicable state and federal laws. Additionally, many AI tools have age restrictions in their terms of service or privacy policies.
The list of approved applications can be found HERE.
To request a new AI application, please fill out the Muskego-Norway AI Request Form
At this time, there are no forward facing changes in practice for students regarding the use of AI.
At this time, AI use for elementary students should be restricted.
