Welcome our Newest Staff Member
We are growing!
Please join me in welcoming Pamela Coleman to our Kindergarten team at College Park Elementary! Pamela first began by volunteering at our school, and when this new opening in Kindergarten became available, she jumped at the opportunity to officially join our Tiger family this school year. She will be serving as an instructional paraprofessional, supporting our youngest learners with care, consistency, and a spirit of excellence.
We are so excited to have her on the team—let’s show Pamela the love and warmth of our College Park community! 🐯💛
Important Updates and Reminders
National Parent Safety Alert: Tik Tok Challange
We want to make parents aware of a recent online trend where some kids are using large amounts of Benadryl to try to feel “funny” or hallucinate. This can be very dangerous and has even led to serious health issues. While platforms like TikTok are working to remove this content, it may still appear online.
Please talk with your child about the importance of not taking medicine without adult supervision and let them know it can be very harmful. Being aware can help keep our students safe and healthy.
Literacy/ESOL Expo Day Oct. 3
Parents, join us on October 3rd from 7:40–9:00 AM in the Media Center for our Literacy EXPO Day! ESOL Expo will take place in room 268 following the Literacy Expo. Parents will get a firsthand look at our literacy initiatives, observe small group activities in classrooms, and take home a resource guide filled with tips to support reading at home. Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to be part of your child’s learning journey!
Double Goods Fundraiser Starts Sept. 30
Popcorn Wars Challenge
We are excited to launch our to raise funds for our school! These fundraisers make a HUGE difference, covering the “extras” that our school budget does not, such as food for events, PBIS incentives, Field Day bubbles, goodbye/end-of-year snacks, and other student celebrations. Last year, your support made all of these possible for our students and staff.
👉 If every parent sells to just three people, we will meet our goal! Some families will be able to do the most, and some will simply do the best they can—but what matters most is that everyone supports the effort. Together, we can make this fundraiser a success.
Here’s how you can help:
-
Buy or Donate – Purchase a set of 3 popcorn flavors or make a donation of the same value.
-
Share & Support – Spread the word with family and friends, and share the link on social media.
-
Cheer On Your Child’s House! – Help your child’s House earn points and celebrate their teamwork.
This is a fun way for our students to be involved, and every sale directly supports making our school environment even stronger. Get ready—because after Popcorn Wars this fall, we’ll roll right into Penny Wars in the spring!
Thank you for always leading with excellence and supporting our Tigers. 🐯💛

ALL IN ON ATTENDANCE – Building Strong Routines
ALL IN ON ATTENDANCE – Building Strong Routines
September is the perfect time to set consistent morning and bedtime routines that make school attendance a natural habit. Students who start the year strong are more likely to maintain excellent attendance all year long.
Students who miss fewer than 5 days in the first semester are 3 times more likely to stay on track in reading and math.
The late bell rings at 7:40am. Students should be in their classroom ready to learn at that time.

Start Strong Highlights
At College Park Elementary, we believe success begins with a Strong Start. In the first six weeks of school, our teachers explicitly taught and practiced key routines with students to build structure, clarity, and confidence in the classroom. These routines: launching a lesson, closing a lesson, transitions, hallway movement, recess line-up, and materials management, create a school culture where learning thrives.
This video highlights the teaching behind the routines and the commitment of our staff to consistency and excellence.
