We conclude Milestones testing this week and immediately transition to MAP testing next week. For our Panthers in grades 3-5, we continue with GA Milestones Mathematics on Tuesday and Wednesday. Fifth-grade students will take the Science Milestones on Thursday. Next week, Kindergarten through fifth-grade will take the Spring MAP assessment.

Preparing for the testing week is simple but does require consistency of practice.

• Ensure your child gets a good night's sleep.
• Has breakfast at home or school (every child may receive breakfast at school).
• Attendance: Come to school every day on time.
• When they get home, allow them to play and exercise: "Burning off" excess energy through physical activity optimizes cognitive function.
• For our Panthers who get a little nervous with testing: Practice relaxation techniques such as deep breathing or mindfulness to manage test anxiety.
• Familiarize yourself with the test format and practice with sample questions or previous exams. Prioritize subjects or topics based on your strengths and weaknesses.
• Lastly, we need to help our Panthers maintain a positive mindset, believing in their abilities and focusing on doing their best rather than perfection. Confidence and preparation go hand in hand for success.

Importance of student attendance:

We understand that occasional absences are unavoidable due to illness or other circumstances. However, we encourage you to prioritize school attendance whenever possible. Here are some ways you can help:

• Establish a consistent bedtime and morning routine.
• Schedule appointments outside of school hours whenever possible.
• Communicate with the school promptly regarding any absences.
• If your child is ill, please follow the school's guidelines for when they can return.

The safety of both students and staff are of the most importance!

• We ask all vehicles to stay in line during car rider drop-off and pick-up. We are moving as quickly and safely as possible.
• Cutting in or pulling around other vehicles can create dangerous situations and disrupt the flow of traffic.
• Following the designated procedures helps maintain a safe and efficient process for everyone.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation in keeping our school community safe. Thank you for setting a positive example and prioritizing student safety.

• Please limit early pick-up of children to emergencies and appointments.
• Unless it's an emergency, no student will be released between 2:45 and 3:15.
• If a child is out for any portion of the school day, the missed time is recorded as a tardy. A note sent in the morning will help us to have your child ready.
• Parents will be asked to wait for the dismissal bell. Come to the office to check out a student.
• Please be prepared to present photo identification upon request.
• NOTE: Any adult (18 years or older) must be registered in the ASPEN portal. Enrolling parent / legal guardian may add or remove an individual.
