A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Thank you students, staff, and families for yet another great school year! I am so proud of all that our students have accomplished this year and the wonderful partnerships we have with our families.
This summer will be a long one as we are back to students starting September 1st. School Calendar 2026-2027. We can't wait to see all the progress of the referendum work that will be done this summer when we come back this fall.
Enjoy every moment you can, rest, and rejuvenate for the upcoming year.
Have a GREAT summer, Foxes!!
UPCOMING EVENTS & CALENDARS
KUDOS
Congratulations, Fox Friday Winners!
Congratulations go out to the following students, Wes, Ava and Hailey and our staff member Mr. Weber for being chosen as this week's Fox Friday winners! Thank you for demonstrating the characteristics of the Fox Four and for being such great role models!! We are proud of you!
Congratulations on Your Retirement!
We would like to acknowledge teachers Mark Bohn, Kathy Kennedy and Dana Whiteley along with food service staff Darlene Besaw and Donna Cina who are retiring at the end of this school year. Together, they have brought over 100 years of words of wisdom, student and staff support and mentorship, a wealth of knowledge and expertise as well as putting their heart and soul into what they do every day. We know we will miss seeing them next year, but we all wish them the very best in their retirement! Thank you for all you've done for the School District of Omro, its students, staff and families and the entire Omro community over the years!
Celebrating Dedication, Service, and Sisterhood: Omro Girl Scouts Continue to Make a Difference
Ava, Audrey, and Riley have been members of the Omro Girl Scout troop since kindergarten, celebrating 10 years of Girl Scouting this fall. While balancing high school academics, sports, jobs, and other extracurricular activities, the girls have remained dedicated to service and leadership within their community. Over the years, they have earned more than 50 badges, completed journeys and service projects, and volunteered countless hours helping others.
Throughout the years, the troop has participated in many volunteer activities, including helping at Father Carr’s Christmas community event, supporting Omro Area Community Center holiday events, creating cards for the elderly, and making tie blankets for veterans. One of the girls’ favorite traditions continues to be winter camp, where this February they spent a weekend in Baraboo hiking more than seven miles at Devils Lake and making lasting memories together. In honor of Earth Day, Ava and Audrey also recently spent time cleaning up the school walking trail and athletic fields.
Most recently, Ava and Riley were recognized at the Girl Scouts of Northwestern Great Lakes East Region Distinction Event for earning the Girl Scout Silver Award, the second-highest award in Girl Scouting earned by only about 10% of eligible Cadettes. For their “Take Action” project, the girls partnered with Aurora Medical Center Oshkosh Emergency Department and Surgery Center to create eight “Busy Boxes” filled with reusable activities and sensory items to help ease anxiety and provide comfort for children and patients during visits. Their project continues to receive positive feedback and reflects the compassion, leadership, and dedication these young women have shown throughout their years in Girl Scouts.
Congratulations to The Class of 2026!
The Class of 2026 Graduation Ceremony was held on Sunday, May 17, in the Den as 81 seniors made their final walk across the stage to receive their diplomas, surrounded by family, friends, and teachers both past and present.
Senior Class President Lainey delivered an inspiring speech titled “Embrace Change and Be Kind,” while Students of the Month Addison and Blake reflected on their journey in a speech titled “Memories.” Together, their messages encouraged classmates to lead with kindness, embrace change, and always remember the lessons and support of the Fox Family.
Mr. Douglas reminded graduates that everything they have learned so far is only “The Warmup” for the opportunities and challenges ahead. The Varsity Concert Band performed “Don’t You Forget About Me” by Simple Minds, a selection chosen by the senior class, and the choir performed “Fly Away Home” by Pinkzebra.
Principal Cady reflected on the stories students grew up reading as children, comparing graduation to turning the page to an exciting new chapter in life. The ceremony concluded as students received their diplomas and Superintendent Dr. Jay Jones shared a final message before sending the Class of 2026 into their future.
Congratulations to the Class of 2026!
Special THANK YOU to Art Eichmann Photography
A special Thank You goes out to Art Eichmann for his time and talents on Sunday during our graduation! He was able to preserve these lasting memories for our seniors and their families! He took time to capture the students as they gathered one last time in the PAC before they crossed the stage and officially became OHS alumni. Thank you, Art! We appreciate you and all you do for our students and district!
Fox Time Positivity
Ms. Jentz's Fox Time students got together to spread some positivity during their Fox Time Walk and Chalk this week. Students were able to spend some time out side creating positive messages on the sidewalks and entryways for others to see. When students find ways to spread positivity, they help build stronger friendships and a happier school community. A single positive message can sometimes make a bigger difference than people realize!
Math Department Participates In Problem Solving Contest at UW-O
At the end of April, 12-9th graders and 12-10th graders took a field trip to UWO to participate in a problem-solving contest. The contest included an individual test and a team test. Students also took a campus tour and participated in activities that ranged from calculating medical math to witnessing a volcanic eruption. The students ended the day at an awards ceremony where one of the 9th-grade teams placed in the top 10% of high school teams. Congrats, Ethyn, Ashley, Hailey, and Wesley!
