Lutherville Lab Report
What's gone down & what's coming up at the leopards' lair.
February 10, 2023
It was a full week at Lutherville Lab! This week students were hard at work on MAP testing, moving on to a new unit in Math, and of course becoming stronger readers and writers.
On Wednesday we had a joyful celebration of the 100th day of school. Please enjoy the pictures below. Some students really blew us away with their outfits and Mrs. Hart and I got in on the fun.
Thursday was a challenging day in our community. Thank you for your understanding, support, and partnership as we navigated the day. While there were signs of concern and activity beyond the building on Thursday, within our walls students were focused and learning and smiling under the care of our amazing staff.
Friday returned to normal operations and we were so excited to celebrate Mrs. Kiewe in the afternoon to close out National School Counselor's Week. We celebrated her with a surprise outside after our fire drill and showered her in Lutherville Love.
There is a lot of important information below, and I want to please ask for your partnership in taking a few minutes for the Stakeholder Survey this week/end. Your voice is valuable and we use this community input in our efforts to continually improve our school.
In partnership and Go Birds!
-Mr. McComb

Angelman Syndrome Day
February 15th is International Angelman Syndrome Day. We have a wonderful kindergarten students, Shea, who has Angelman Syndrome and whom we want to celebrate. Please wear blue to help raise awareness and show support for Shea. We will also share information on the morning announcements to help students understand and learn about the condition.

BCPS Stakeholder Survey!
Team BCPS students in Grades 3-12, parents/caregivers, staff, and community members are invited to participate in the school system’s annual Stakeholder Climate Survey. The brief online survey will be available on the BCPS home page through Friday, March 3, 2023.
The survey is available in multiple languages for students, parents, and community members. This annual survey is an important way for us to listen to you, the BCPS community, learn your views, and be responsive to your feedback by taking action to improve our schools and school system. Survey feedback is used by our schools to refine School Progress Plans as well as by the system to measure progress toward goals in The Compass strategic plan.
The views of respondents will help to shape our budget, our staffing, and our programs. We hope all members of Team BCPS will participate in this important annual survey - we want to hear from you! Thank you for your ongoing support and collaboration on behalf of our incredible students and staff.

Kids Heart Challenge
We are only one week from our donation deadline of Friday, February 17, 2023! Our students have already raised over $2500 for the American Heart Association.
Students participating will join our “Kids Heart Challenge” special event during the school day in late February and get moving with fun activities, learn about keeping their hearts and brains healthy and feel great about helping others. Also, the class that raises the most money gets an extra PE class.
We appreciate all your help and please see the attached flyers for more information. THANK YOU!!!
