Bulldogger Blast
Parent & Community Newsletter
What's Going On
September 1st, 2022
Welcome to September!
I hope to put this newsletter out monthly as an extra communication piece so that we're getting information to as many of our stakeholders as possible.
Speaking of communication, in a world where everyone appears to be more connected than ever, we know that communication lines get blurred and all of us are quick to react without getting all the context in different situations. At DHS, I truly hope communication is a two-way street between our school and our families. In the event you ever have a question, a need, an issue, or just desire to give us some feedback, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Our school is full of human beings working hard to make this a great place for kids and we can always get better. I'm happy to meet you where you're at, and often times, it's just an e-mail or a phone call. However, if you want to come in and visit, my door is always open. There's no question the school is the heartbeat of the community, and I hope we are giving our students a great educational experience.
Proud to be a Bulldogger,
Mr. Stowe
Principal

Extracurricular Focus
Student Council
The purpose of Dewey High School Student Council is to help our student body make connections to both the school and the community. We help the community by: hosting 2 blood drives each year, promoting the canned food drive, ringing bells for the Salvation Army, and sponsoring an angel tree recipient. We help students make connections to their school by hosting school dances that give all students an outside of the school-day activity that they can enjoy. We also attend district leadership meetings, in both fall and spring, which provide our members the opportunity to learn how to become better leaders within their school and community. Overall, students learn the importance of being an active member of their community and school with the hope that those skills will help them be productive citizens and leaders in their communities when they are adults.
The DHS Student Council sponsor is Mrs. Vicki Eastwood. Aside from our elected class officers, other student leaders may apply to be a part of StuCo. Interested students should see Mrs. Eastwood for more info.
