The Tiger Times

Week of October 4, 2026
Good Evening Tigers,
This is Noel Keener, the proud principal of Ragsdale High with this week's updates. We had a great Homecoming Week and our Tigers showed their excitement! And it's been FANTASTIC having our new seats for the stadium!
On October 6th, all Ragsdale 11th grade students will take the PSAT and 10th grade students will be participating in a YouScience Aptitude Assessment. Students should bring their Chromebook and a charger. Students taking the PSAT will not be able to have bags in the testing room; we will lock them up safely or students can leave their bags in their car and/or at home. Students will be able to be released for early pick up when the exam is done; we estimate between 1 and 1:30. Our 9th and 12th graders will be remote that day. Please see our newsletter for more information.
Flag Football Senior Night is Monday, and Tennis Senior Night is Wednesday!
Our PTSA Meeting has been moved to Monday, October 12 and our Athletic Booster Club Meeting has been moved to Sunday, October 11 at 3:00pm.
Thank you, have a great week, and, as always, TIGER PRIDE!

The YouScience Aptitude Assessment uses fun, science-based brain games to match middle and high school students with careers and education options that fit their unique abilities. The result is a personalized Career Discovery Plan to help students confidently map out their future.
Students should bring their Chromebook and a charger. Students taking the PSAT will not be able to have bags in the testing room; we will lock them up safely or students can leave their bags in their car and/or at home. CFNC College Connect
With NC College Connect, you will be directly admitted to participating colleges and universities where you already meet admissions requirements. No essays, test scores, or recommendation letters needed. Yes, it's that simple.
If you're a current senior on track to graduate, you’re eligible to participate in NC College Connect. Yes, all of you! You’ll receive your NC College Connect letter in mid-September of your senior year with more information about where you’ve been admitted.
NC College Connect is a program that directly admits North Carolina public high school seniors who are on track to graduate, have a 2.8 GPA or higher, are enrolled in a fourth-level math and meet program requirements to participating UNC System universities, North Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities, and their local North Carolina community college. The higher your GPA, the more schools to which you’ll be directly admitted!
Don't have a 2.8 GPA? If you are on track to graduate, you’ll be directly admitted to your local community college!
We've made your college application process simpler. After all, you've earned it. Have questions about how it all works? We’ve got the answers.
Where do I go to claim my spot?
The portal will open in mid-September 2026. Once it opens, go to the NC College Connect portal and log in with your CFNC account. Then:
- Make sure your CFNC account information matches your NC-SIS name exactly.
- View your colleges that you are matched with based on your GPA.
- Complete a short form for each school you’re interested in.
- Colleges will follow up with next steps after you accept your admission.
