Bulldog Blast
9/19/2025
Note From Principal Pautler
Hello Bulldog Families,
We’ve got a busy (and a little bit different) week at Memorial, so here’s what you need to know:
1. Bulldog Competitive Cheer
Our cheer team is headed to the 6A Regional in Stroud this weekend. If you’ve never seen them perform, I highly recommend it—it’s like a high-energy technical show filled with school spirit! We wish them the best of luck as they show off all of their hard work. Details are listed below if you’d like to make the trip.
2. Friday Night Lights
This week, your 3-0 Bulldog football team gets a well-earned bye. That’s right, no game Friday night. So you can either:
-
Spend Friday night actually resting (what a concept).
-
Or, you can spend it rewatching our highlights and preparing for next week’s home game versus Norman North on September 26th.
3. ASVAB Testing
The ASVAB test is coming up next week here at Memorial. If your student is considering a career in the military, this is an important step. Sign-up information is listed below. Think of it as the SAT of service—but with a clearer career path at the end.
4. Blood Drive
Our first semester Blood Drive takes place Monday. Students will need a signed parent/guardian permission slip to participate. Yes, even the 18-year-olds. Technically, they don’t need it legally, but around here we like to err on the side of “Mom should probably know if you’re giving away a pint of blood.” Thanks for helping us keep this process smooth and safe for everyone.
5. Bulldog Band Debut
The Bulldog Band is strutting their stuff this weekend at their first competition at Deer Creek High School. After putting in countless hours this summer and fall, they’re ready to show off their competitive show. Trust me, this is more than just marching in a straight line—these kids are the real deal. Come out and support the “best band in the land!”
Have an AMAZING weekend and we'll see you back here on Monday!

Senior Jostens Information
Hello senior parents/guardians!
This morning, seniors met with Jostens reps to go over information on ordering their caps/gowns. Please note the following important highlights from that meeting. I am also attaching the flyer that was given out today from Jostens.
- You can order your cap/gown by going to jostens.com. They have a variety of packages available. The only thing the school requires you to purchase is the basic cap/gown/tassel package.
- Caps/gowns/tassels will be delivered during Senior Morning in April.
- The early-bird pricing deadline is October 8. After that, prices will continue to increase each month. Order yours ASAP to avoid any price increases! Edmond Memorial asks that you have your cap/gown ordered by November 21.
- Students filled out a postcard with contact information so Jostens can send you reminders directly. I am attaching a QR code you can scan to sign up for those reminders as well, if you have not yet done so.
- If you need financial assistance for your cap/gown, your senior needs to visit with their counselor. They have applications available for a scholarship program through the school. The deadline to apply for financial assistance is October 24.
- If you have questions about ordering your child's cap and gown, please contact Jostens directly at 405-607-4343.
Also, these links were sent out yesterday, but it doesn't hurt to have them in one more place:
- To reserve a legacy cowl, please fill out this Google Form (legacies are for students who had a parent/grandparent/great-grandparent/etc. graduate from Memorial. Siblings/aunts/uncles/cousins are excluded - this is generational only)
- To reserve a military cord, please fill out this Google Form (these are provided for free from Tinker AFB for any students who has an immediate family member who has served or is currently serving in the US military (parents, siblings, grandparents, etc.)
- The deadline to reserve these is December 5.
Please be sure you have joined our Band group to stay up-to-date on all important information (https://band.us/@26seniors).
For general graduation questions, please email me at emily.busey@edmondschools.net. For questions specifically about ordering caps/gowns, please contact Jostens (405-607-4343).
