Weekly News at Reidy Creek Elementary School 8/7/2024
Dear Reidy Creek Families,
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! I hope you've had an amazing summer with your families and made some wonderful memories. My family and I had the opportunity to travel to Washington and visit Olympic National Park. It was absolutely beautiful, and we all had a great time. Here's a photo of my family from the infamous Hall of Mosses!
For those of you I already have the privilege of knowing, welcome back! For those who are new to our school, I can't wait to meet you. Reidy Creek Elementary School is a special place with a long tradition of academic excellence, loving and supportive teachers, family engagement, and lots of fun community events.
We look forward to working with each of you to help every student reach his/her unlimited potential academically and socially.
I will send another newsletter next week with more information regarding the first week of school, but if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out!
Here's to a great year ahead!
Megan Loh
Principal
Stay Informed
This year, my goal is to continue to help families stay informed and involved as strong partners with us in educating and supporting our students. As a school, we strive to maintain close communication between home and school. These are the following ways we will be using to communicate with you.
- Every Friday afternoon, you will receive a weekly Coyote Connection. This newsletter will highlight any school activities and inform you of important and upcoming events.
- We will continue to update our Reidy Creek School website throughout the year.
- Classroom teachers will send emails and notifications through the Rooms app. Once your child's teacher is assigned, please make sure that you subscribe to their account. Directions will be sent once the year is underway.
Class Lists
Class lists will be available on PowerSchool available on Friday, August 16th at 5:00 pm. You will be receiving a welcome email from your child's teacher before the first day of school.
Please note that due to enrollment numbers, we will not be able to make any changes to class placement.
First Day of School
We're looking forward to seeing all of our students on August 20th. School will begin at 8:10 that morning with blacktop gates opening at 7:40.
Here is some important information regarding drop-off and pick-up for the first few days. A more detailed page of all our procedures will be sent home on the first day of school. As many of you know, we have very limited parking, and it is important that all families read through our policies clearly to help drop-off and pick-up run smoothly!
Drop-Off:
- For the first day, parents are welcome to walk their child onto campus and to their classrooms. We'll have plenty of staff members outside to ensure students know where to go.
- The blacktop area will be open for additional parking.
Pick-Up:
- All cars picking up third-fifth grade students must go through our bus loop to pick up students.
- All cars picking up TK-second grade students can turn left and pick up students in front of the Kindergarten playground.
- Please pull all the way down to the end of the loop before picking up your child. We will have staff outside to help direct cars.
Breakfast and Lunch:
- Breakfast and lunch are provided to all students free of charge.
- Breakfast is served before school from 7:30-8:00.
- Every day, students have the option of bringing their lunch, or getting hot lunch through the cafeteria. The menu for each month will always be posted at the bottom of the Coyote Connection.
We appreciate your help and cooperation!
School Supplies
We will be providing all of the school supplies that students need here at school so there is no need to purchase anything.
The only item that students will need is a backpack to transport items to/from school, a water bottle, and a lunch box for a morning snack. Please make sure all items are labeled with your child's first and last name.
We know we have many generous parents who are eager to donate to their child's classroom. After school begins, many teachers will share wish lists of various items that can be provided specifically for their classroom.

I hope you had a fun, restful, and safe break.
It has been my absolute pleasure working for you and your children. These past 15 months at Reidy Creek hold many memories I will treasure forever. I would like to thank all those children who greeted me with amazing smiles, all those many hugs I received, and the joy I experienced getting to know lots of you.
