Miners in the Middle
February 16, 2025

Week of February 17th - February 22nd
Dear Parents/Guardians & Students,
I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the volunteers who made our 6th grade trip to Junior Achievement’s BizTown possible last week. We also appreciate Mrs. Roberts and especially Mrs. Davis, who organized the trip and taught the required lessons to students leading up to the visit. Our students had a great time and learned valuable lessons about financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship. We truly appreciate the support that makes these enriching experiences possible.
Additionally, a group of our students attended the TSA Mini Conference at Indian Capital Technology Center in Sallisaw, OK with Mr. Martin and Mr. Gambi. We are grateful for all of the extracurricular opportunities available to our students. Involvement in extracurricular activities enhances the middle school experience by helping students develop leadership skills, build friendships, and discover their passions. I encourage all students to get involved in at least one club or activity at school.
Congratulations to our high school Miners and Lady Miners basketball teams on their District Championships! Let’s continue to support them during their journey to State at this week’s Regional Tournament. Go Big Blue!
As we continue through the semester, please take a moment to review our dress code and classroom/common area behavior expectations (posted below) with your student. We appreciate your support in maintaining a positive and respectful learning environment for all.
Finally, with the potential for inclement weather this week, please check our school’s webpage and social media posts for any announcements regarding weather-related cancellations. We want all of our students and staff to stay safe and warm.
Thank you for your continued support, and let’s make it a great week!
Sincerely,
Nicole Green
Principal

HMS Building-Wide Expectations
Classroom Expectations
These are our school-wide expectations for our students. Positive behavior fosters an environment where ALL students can learn and grow. It is our hope that our HMS families will discuss our school-wide behavior expectations and encourage positive behaviors at school and home.
Common Areas Expectations
Our school-wide expectations extend beyond the classroom. It is important that students also realize they are accountable for their behaviors in the hallway, cafeteria and at all school sponsored activities on and off campus.
