September 11th Commemoration

On September 11th, Cedar Grove High School held our annual 9/11 Commemoration to honor the 2,977 lives lost in the 2001 attacks. The event served as a powerful reflection for students who were not alive during the tragic events.

Student ambassadors Krish Patel and Maggie Toomey read tributes to the two Cedar Grove residents who perished. The ceremony also featured a reading of the poem "Heroes" by Sophia Bobrowsky, and a timeline of events from 9/11 shared by Mia Russo and Victoria Ventola.

Special guests Mayor Mega and Mrs. Dawn Daura provided thoughtful reflections, while the CGHS Choir, under the direction of Ms. Jessen, performed a rendition of “America the Beautiful.”

Cedar Grove High School extends its gratitude to Chief Donlon, the Cedar Grove Fire and Police Departments, rescue squads, and volunteers for their work in organizing the meaningful event. The ceremony ensured that the students of Cedar Grove High School will never forget this important day in our nation's history.

In a multi-week STEM activity, students in Mrs. Degenaars Biology class are applying the scientific method by designing and conducting their own experiments to study grass growth. Each student or group has chosen a specific fertilizer and a unique experimental design to investigate. We can't wait to see which has the best growth!
