Thanks for being PAWSitive, Tigers!
Tigers demonstrating PAWSitive behavior are nominated to have their names added to our WOW Board. WOW Board members are then eligible to win a fun brag tag and Buddy Pass. The Buddy Pass entitles each WOW Board member to enjoy lunch on the stage with a buddy of his/her choice.

March Classroom Counseling Lessons
Howdy, Tiger Families! This month, Tigers are "roping in our stress" by focusing on techniques to calm our bodies and minds down when we are feeling stressed or overwhelmed.
In Kindergarten through 2nd grade, students will be learning how to recognize when they are feeling stressed or overwhelmed and how to respond in healthy ways. We will focus on building regulation skills that help students calm their minds and bodies. These include breathing strategies, grounding techniques, and other tools students can use independently throughout the school day.
In 3rd through 5th grade, students will be learning strategies to support them during STAAR testing. We will discuss how to prepare both their minds and bodies for testing days and explore practical tools to help them not only manage test-related stress, but feel confident and prepared to do their best. Students will leave with techniques such as intentional breathing and positive self-talk that can make a meaningful difference in their performance and overall testing experience.
One student favorite at WCHE is 5-Finger Breathing. In this exercise, students trace the outline of their hand, breathing in as they trace up each finger and breathing out as they trace down. This simple strategy promotes deep breathing, focus, and a sense of calm. This exercise can be used at any age!

Have you and your student discussed making a course change for middle school? You can submit requests to change courses this week using this form. Using this form ensures all requests are received, reviewed, and processed as efficiently as possible. The form will be open until 4pm on March 6.
Please note:
Submitting the form is the official way to request a schedule change. Schedule changes will not be accepted through email or a phone call.
Requests are reviewed and approved based on district guidelines, course availability, and scheduling considerations.
A counselor will follow up if additional information is needed or once the request has been reviewed.
Thank you for your patience as we work to ensure a smooth scheduling process!
With warmest regards,
Bryn Lohrberg, Counselor

Attention LTISD Parents and Guardians,
The Discovery Program, otherwise known as Gifted and Talented, is now accepting parent referrals for KINDERGARTEN G/T Screening via this Google form.
The Elementary Discovery Program is a cross-curricular thematic-based pullout program for students in grades K-5. Participating students will demonstrate skills in self-directed learning, thinking, research, and communication as evidenced by the development of innovative products and performances that reflect individuality and creativity and are advanced in relation to students of similar age, experience, or environment. To be identified as gifted and talented, each student must undergo a screening and selection process. Assessment opportunities are made available once per school year.
If you feel your child is a good candidate for the G/T screening process, please fill out the link below. The deadline to register is March 12 at 3 pm. More information about the program can be found on the Lake Travis ISD Gifted & Talented website.
Referral link for Kinder students only - deadline March 12, 2026 @ 3:00 PM.
Personalization options available for purchase, too.

School Library Advisory Council
In response to Senate Bill 13, our Board of Trustees has established the Lake Travis ISD School Library Advisory Council (SLAC.) The purpose of the SLAC is to formalize a collaborative process between librarians, parents, and community members in the ongoing development of strong library collections that support student achievement and meet state standards. This process helps ensure transparency, parent involvement, and a strong library program that strengthens student achievement while nurturing a lifelong appreciation, habit, and love of reading.
The SLAC works with librarians and district staff to develop a recommended list of library materials for procurement, including donated titles. At least 30 days before the Board’s vote, the proposed procurement list will be made publicly available for parents and community members to review and provide feedback. The Board will review these recommendations, consider any proposed changes, and make the final decision to approve or reject the materials. The SLAC will also recommend procedures for handling challenges to library materials and review challenges according to law before making recommendations to the Board.
Visit the SLAC webpage to access the Proposed Titles for Library Procurement List, Proposed Titles for Library Procurement List Feedback Form, and the Library Materials Challenge Form.
For questions or additional information regarding SLAC reviews or library material challenges, please contact Tasha Barker at watersbarkert@ltisdschools.org, or at 512-533-6036.
