Please note: Parents will not be permitted inside the building on the first day of school.

Please take note below of some important information regarding procedures and safety plan for both drop off and dismissal:

• Our doors open at 8:10am daily. We cannot make exceptions because our staff will not be on duty until that time. This is a change from last year.

• School begins at 8:30am and dismissal begins at 3:40pm.

• Your child will be classified as a Walker, a Car Rider, or a Bus Rider daily. We will not allow walk-ups to come into the building to sign their child out. While we realize everyone has busy schedules, it is not a safe practice to walk children across the bus-loading zone during dismissal. Please refrain from attempting to walk up to the school at dismissal to sign your child out to avoid waiting in the car rider line. Our School Resource Officer will be called to assist if necessary.

• The office must be notified of transportation changes prior to 2:00pm daily. Office phone number: 660-422-5770. Our teachers will notify students of transportation changes before dismissal begins.

• All car riders will enter the Maple Grove property, turn left and enter the two-lane driveway on the north side of the building, following the marked signs. Cars will form two lines behind the school and proceed to the furthest colored sign/cone when called. Parents should remain in the car and allow the children to open the car door and proceed to the sidewalk independently. School personnel will maintain safety while the students are waiting. The students will enter the building through the gym doors. The gym doors will lock at 8:30am. If you arrive after 8:30am, please bring your child to the main entrance and sign them in at the office.

• The bus-loading zone is located at the main entrance. Cars are not permitted in the bus-loading zone between 7:50-8:30am or between 3:00-4:00pm.

• If you are new to Maple Grove, the first few days may cause some stress and anxiety. Dismissal will not go as smoothly as we would like it to go for a few days. The average dismissal time generally ranges from 30 to 45 minutes to load all cars and buses for the first few days. It generally decreases to 15-20 minutes after the first week of school. We are working as hard as we can to ensure that students and staff get into a routine as soon as possible. Please exercise patience as we acclimate to a new school year.

• If your child will not be at school, please call the office prior to 10:00am daily, 660-422-5770.
