ISTE and Tech and Learning Conferences
I spent the last week of June at the Tech and Learning Leadership Conference and at ISTE. Here are some key takeaways:
Dr. Richard Charles, CIO at Denver Public Schools was the Keynote at Tech and Learning where he showcased the math and science behind AI and the future of education. He is working with CoSN on AI resources including guidance and a readiness toolkit that you can find attached below.
ISTE was incredible this year with so many presentations around artificial intelligence and the future of education. Here are some highlights and takeaways:
Playgrounds:
I had the pleasure to present at 4 playgrounds at ISTE this year. Here are the resources:
Vendor Presentations:
I was able to present at both the Quizizz booth and the Book Creator booth on AI and computer science respectively. Reach out if you would like to learn more about these programs.
This forum was a 3 hour mini-conference within the ISTE conference to explore the impact AI is having on our lives. I gave a 4 minute TED style talk on AI and SEL for our students.
Bookmark this Wakelet collection as it will be updated over the next 6 months as more educators share their resources.
EDUGuardians
Educators around the world met at ISTE with the theme around 'Unite to Ignite'. We met on the vendor floor to swap trading cards, hugs, and share some smiles.
NY Educators
At Tech and Learning in Denver, Colorado I was able to spend time with these three amazing educators: Tim Needles, Jaclyn Patanio, and Sean Arnold.
Spending time with Jordyn Zimmerman
Jordyn is an amazing educator and disability advocate. She was diagnosed as autistic and did not receive any augmentative communication until she was 18. You can watch her 2021 documentary This is Not About Me.
