Message from Administration
Dear OMS Parents and Families,
As we approach April vacation, we want to wish you and your family a safe and enjoyable break! It’s a wonderful time for students to relax and spend quality time with loved ones. We kindly ask that students limit their use of School-issued Chromebooks during the break, unless they need to catch up on assignments or make up work. This is a great opportunity for them to take a step back from screens and enjoy some time away from their devices.
Below are links to programming and activities that are available to students and their families during April Vacation so you can plan ahead.

Grade 8 Class Day
- What is it? Grade 8 Class Day is a day to celebrate our 8th graders completion of middle school. Grade 8 students have fun activities in the morning. Families are invited to join us for a Promotion Ceremony where we celebrate students' completion of middle school. Each student is allowed two guests for this ceremony. Later at night, students have a Grade 8 Dance. More information and details about Class Day will be emailed home to Grade 8 families in the Spring.
- When is it? Our Grade 8 Class Day takes place the day before the last day of school. Currently, the last day of school is scheduled for June 17th which means Class Day would fall on June 16th. If we end up having snow days or the last day of school is moved this year, Class Day will be moved to whatever day falls before the last day of school. The Promotion Ceremony takes place at noon.
Health & Wellness Fair
OMS students are invited to come to the Health & Wellness Fair on Wednesday, April 30th! There will be informational booths, games, comfort dogs, and more!
When students arrive at SHS, they need to check-in at OMS table. Middle schoolers should enter SHS by the entrance next to the access road where the buses line up and where the food trucks will be.
OMS and SHS students will receive a passport and they can earn stamps as they participate in the different booths, workshops, and activities!
OMS Incentives (Students must turn in their passport to earn the incentives)
- 1 positive recognition card for attending the fair
- 10 stations = 1 attendance buy back* or 2 tardies buy back*
- 15 stations = 2 attendance buy back or 4 tardies buy back
- 30 stations = 3 attendance buy back or 6 tardies buy back
- 2 workshops = 1 attendance buy back or 2 tardies buy back
- 3 workshops = 2 attendance buy back or 3 tardies buy back
*Buy backs are where students can earn credit back. Attendance buy back can change an unexcused absence to an attendance buy-back. Tardy buy backs can change unexcused tardies to tardy buy backs. If a student has many tardies, the tardy buy-backs can give them credit back so they don't have to attend the May Knights on Time Tardy program after school on early release.

Classroom Spotlight: Mrs. Boyrazian's Spanish 1B Class
Manía Musical is an exciting music competition held in Mrs. Boyrazian's Spanish class, inspired by the famous basketball tournament. Over several weeks, students voted for their favorite Spanish songs in head-to-head matchups. We are proud to announce that the winner of our class, and the national winner, is "Candela" by Nico Santos and Álvaro Soler! This engaging activity not only promotes a love for Hispanic music but also enhances our students' language learning experience.
Students of the Month
As part of our school's PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports) program, five students on each team are recognized as Students of the Month for demonstrating traits of readiness, responsibility, and respect. Each winner receives a certificate and a golden ticket (worth 5 tickets) which they can redeem for a prize on Ticket Tuesdays.
Congratulations to all of our March Students of the Month!
