End of the Year Attendance Reminder

Per the Colorado Code of Regulations (1-CCR-301-1), “students shall be counted as completing (finishing) the school year if they leave school within three weeks of the last day of school or have completed all coursework early, meaning they have completed the locally defined requirements for the current grade and will be promoted to the next higher grade the following school year.”

This information is relevant only for students who have attended school before and will be absent for the final three weeks (consecutive days) of the current academic year. The school staff should analyze a range of evidence while deciding the specific criteria for fulfilling the current grade level requirements.

Please use the ACT attendance code when marking the student's attendance.

Kindgarten Attendance for 25-26

As we approach the new school year, it's important to emphasize that once a student is enrolled in Kindergarten, regular attendance isn't just encouraged—it's expected. Starting from Kindergarten, consistent attendance is crucial because it lays the groundwork for future learning and overall success.

Research highlights the significant impact of attendance: Kindergarten students who frequently miss school often face academic and social challenges in later grades, and are more likely to encounter behavioral issues. These absences can stem from various family or child-specific challenges such as health issues, family schedules, or anxiety about school.

Ensuring regular attendance in Kindergarten is critical for setting our students on a path to success. Let's all commit to supporting our youngest learners in maintaining consistent attendance throughout their educational journey. Regular attendance is not only our expectation; it's a foundational step towards a thriving academic future for every student.
