2025 Labour Action
Unfortunately, this is a very fluid situation and things can change very quickly. At this point in time, teachers are set to strike on Monday, Oct. 6. This means that there are no teachers working - courses, email, etc. will be unavailable. As things change, we will let you know the best that we can.
ARE YOU IN THE COURSES YOU WANT TO BE IN??
Please ensure that you check:
- are you in Moodle?
- are the courses you want listed in My Courses?
If you said "No" to either, email us or call us right away!
STUDENT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FORMS ARE DUE!
If the forms are not returned by Sept. 30, students will be frozen out of their courses until the form is returned.

Personal Mobile Device Policy
The “Cell phone policy” has gotten lots of media attention this summer. We know that phones have a negative effect on attention and a negative effect on learning. Working with families and students to ensure a positive learning environment for our students is our goal.
Call the office if you need to get a hold of your student! Please do not call or text them in the middle of class.
Please ensure you are aware of the policy in our Handbook:
BRSD AP 135 - USE OF PERSONAL MOBILE DEVICES AND SOCIAL MEDIA IN SCHOOLS governs device use.
Specifically to BRACE:
1. Students will keep their devices in their backpack or bag and will not use it during instructional time unless for instructional purposes as directed by staff.
2. Students may use their phone at break times and may use it in the classroom only during lunch time.
3. Students need to discuss special circumstances with their teacher and administration. Administration will meet with families to discuss the need and a medical note may be required.
Progressive discipline will be implemented as per AP 135.
Intro emails and course outlines
Students should be checking their BRSD email accounts for intro emails from their teachers. If they do not receive an intro email, please check the spam folder, and if no email is received by Wednesday, Sept. 5, please let us know! So get out those devices and hopefully a chipmunk hasn't stolen a cord!

Ensure you are up to date with our policies and how things work here at BRACE!

Our aim is to put public library cards into the hands of every student.

Digital content and resources, including language learning resources, research databases, digital newspapers and magazines, eBooks and eAudio books
Physical literacy resources, including physical literacy items, outdoor games, kits to help families navigate difficulties like separation and loss, and more
With their library card, a child can explore a wide variety of library materials and select their own to take home, encouraging independence and a love of reading.
