4 yr Old Preschool

Mrs. B was our drawing expert! It was so fun visiting the art room. We loved her drying rack and doc camera. She showed us how to draw different shapes/ lines to create a picture. We were also excited to use paints. Preschool in February has been busy learning and playing with our new centers. They have focused a lot on having fun with friends and fair ways to play. Preschoolers also have enjoyed having Mrs. Lori from the Emmetsburg Public Library visit once a a month. She has visited us twice here since winter break. She brings fun songs, a great book to read, and music and movement activities. The preschoolers have loved her visits and activities! We look forward to partnering with her all of the next year!!!

Kindergarten Readiness

It has been a busy February in Readiness. We had visits from Ms. Lori from the Emmetsburg Public Library and from Ms. Kaitlin, the Palo Alto County Naturalist. We made Valentines for some very special people. We celebrated filling our PBIS jar with a “Bring Your Favorite Toy to School” party!

Kindergarten

Kindergartners celebreated their 100th day of kindergarten by dressing up like 100 year olds! They have been learning about the four seasons and comparing our weather to a couple other towns across the nation to see what their weather is also doing. It has been fun to see pictures from these diffeent places.

2nd Grade

In Feburary we had a warmer day where we enjoyed reading outside on the playground equipment! Second graders just finished a unit on Westward Expansion and wrapped up their unit with some fun activites. They made wagons with 3Dux kits, played Oregon Trail, and navigated through "The Oregon Trail" with BeeBots. It wasn't always easy thought- they had some hardships to overcome just like those who really did take the Oregon Trail!

Third Grade

The 3rd grade students were doing an experiment during reading class on how gravity works. They started by dropping a marble and a flat piece of paper to see which landed first. Then, they got to change the form of the paper to see if they would get a different result.

3 year old Preschool

3 year old preschool studnets have been showing a strong interst in baking and cooking. Our class has started a baking project to learn more on the topic. The students brought in baking tools from home to use and explore. We put flour in our sensory table with sifters, scoops, and strainers. The students are enjoying finding yummy recipes in recipe books and pretending to bake recipes in the dramatic play area. I think we have some future chefs in our class!
