Hello, Wildcat Families and Students!
It's A Great Week to Be a Wildcat!
What a great week at Sullivan Middle School! It has been wonderful to see our students settling into their routines, connecting with their teachers and friends, and starting the school year with such positive energy.
A huge thank you to all of our families who joined us for Back to School Night! It was a tremendous success, and we loved having the opportunity to welcome you to campus, introduce you to our amazing teachers, and share all of the great things happening at Sullivan. Your partnership and support play such an important role in the success of our students.
Our students also recently completed their STAR assessments in Math and ELA, and we are excited about how well they performed! Our teachers will be using these results to celebrate student strengths, identify areas for growth, and provide the right level of support and challenge for every student.
Fall sports are going strong, and our Wildcats are ready to compete! We are continuing to monitor the warm weather and are looking forward to the temperatures cooling down. We are especially excited for our upcoming games this week and next and hope to see our Wildcat families out there cheering on our teams!
We are also looking forward to our Back to School Dance! This is always a fun opportunity for our students to spend time with friends, build connections, and celebrate the start of another great school year. We love seeing our students get involved and enjoy all that middle school has to offer.
There is so much happening at Sullivan, and we are just getting started! Thank you to our students, staff, and families for continuing to make Sullivan such a special community.
We look forward to seeing you and sharing more about the wonderful year ahead at Sullivan!

Excessive Heat Warning Update
Sullivan Middle School P.E.
2026-2027
Greeting Wildcat Families!
With the extreme heat we will be experiencing over the next few days, please know that
the Sullivan Middle School Physical Education department is prepared and we have
procedures in place. Our students' safety is a priority. We have partnered up with
SDCOE on this, and we will follow a specific heat index. We are also aligned with the
CDPH Health Guidance for Schools on Sports and Strenuous Outdoor Activities During
Extreme Heat.
Please remind your student to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Students can also
bring a hat and sunscreen as well if they’d like to.
A quick announcement about P.E Clothes! We have placed the order was done and we will
be receiving the new P.E. uniforms by next week. Student grades will not be affected by this.
Thank you,
SMS P.E. Department
Important Drop-Off & Pick-Up Reminders
To help keep our Wildcats safe and ensure a smooth arrival and dismissal each day, please review the following important reminders.
Morning Drop-Off:
Parents and guardians should drop students off in their designated 6th, 7th, or 8th grade drop-off areas. Please do not drop students off in the bus drop-off area at the top of the parking lot. This area must remain clear for our buses to safely enter, unload students, and exit campus.
Afternoon Pick-Up:
To ensure the safety and supervision of all students during dismissal, starting at 3:15 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, all students who are still waiting to be picked up will be moved to the 6th-grade parking lot. On Thursday, our early release day, students will be moved to this area beginning at 1:40 PM.
If your 7th- or 8th-grade student has not been picked up by these times, they will be directed to the designated supervised area in the 6th-grade parking lot, where families can pick them up.
Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and partnership in helping us keep our Wildcats safe during our busy arrival and dismissal times!
Back to School Night – A Great Success!
Thank you to all of our Wildcat families who joined us for Back to School Night! It was wonderful to see so many parents and guardians on campus connecting with teachers, visiting classrooms, and learning more about what their students will experience this year.
We appreciate our teachers and staff for welcoming our families and sharing the exciting learning opportunities ahead. Most importantly, we are grateful for the continued partnership of our families!
Thank you for making Back to School Night such a success and for being an important part of our Wildcat community!
8th Grade Wildcats will Attend the College and Career Fair!
We are excited for our 8th-grade students to attend the College & Career Fair at Bonsall High School! This is a great opportunity for our students to begin thinking about their future and explore the many possibilities available to them after high school.
Students will have the opportunity to learn about colleges, universities, career pathways, and other postsecondary options while beginning conversations about their own interests and future goals.
As our 8th graders prepare for the transition to high school, experiences like this help them see the connection between the choices they make today and the opportunities available to them in the future.
We are excited for our Wildcats to visit the high school and start exploring what comes next!
Bell Schedule for 26-27 School year
School starts every day at 8:00 am and can be dropped off as early as 7:30 am. Please make sure to drop your student off in the lower parking lot because the upper parking lot will be closed to allow our students to walk across the walkway safely.
All of 8th grade and half of 7th grade will have second lunch and follow Bell Schedule B.

Secured Campus Information
ATTENTION PARENTS!
Only emergency vehicles, buses, those with handicap placards, and those with other special placards have access to the upper lot, emergency lane closest to the front of our schools. You will need to show your placard to Campus Security.
We ask that If you have a parking pass because your student received the ROAR Award for that month you may continue to have access to the upper lot at the end of the school day. Please do not park in the bus lanes or block the handicap spaces.
This decision to enforce our existing parking lot plan aligns with the recommendations of our community safety partners and will increase our ability to maintain a safe and secure site:
- When dropping students off, please use the lower levels of the parking lot.
- When visiting either the middle or the high school office, please park in the lower levels, bring your ID to the front, and check in with the appropriate staff.
Gates accessing the upper lane will continue to be closed to secure the campus. We appreciate your partnership and support in our efforts to provide the highest levels of safety for our students
