Final Fun Friday on 8-22

Each Friday in the summer, we plan for an extra fun activity and a dress up day. All the dress up days are designed to be simple ones you can do with things you have at home, please don’t feel obligated to buy anything to make this happen. These are in place to help children prepare for similar dress up days in school. Staff and children will both participate in dressing up!

We will provide Strive shirts for each of the children. For more info on specific activities or dress up days, check out the weekly newsletter.

Autism Alliance of Michigan Zoo Walk

Save the date - Saturday, September 20th is the AAoM's annual Zoo Walk at the Detroit Zoo! Strive Center will have a team and we'd love you to join our team and come to the zoo. It's a great day for families to get into the zoo early, enjoy a resource fair, and everything the zoo has to offer all day. We'll share more info about joining our team as the event gets closer.

Exciting Changes

We have several exciting changes within our team to share!

In Burton, Greta has moved into the position of Behavior Specialist. This position is designed as the next step for a student who is working toward becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Greta has completed her coursework for her Master's Degree and her certification and will work toward taking her exam in the next few months as she continues to gain experience alongside our current BCBAs. We are so proud of all Greta's hard work and pleased to have her continue her journey with us!

In Brighton, Kacie has accepted the position of ABA Training Coordinator. This is a new position for our team, and we are so fortunate to have an experienced Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) take on the role. Kacie will work in both Strive locations now, overseeing the entire training experience for our new hires. We have worked on improving our training over the last year so that our new hires have opportunities to learn, observe, and grow as they work toward the goal of becoming an RBT. With Kacie's leadership, we can ensure the highest quality training for all new hires from day 1.
