Registration

March 6th – March 9th

Prior to registration, please visit the district website at www.wpsk12.com to obtain the 2023-2024 registration packet and required documents.

On March 6th - March 9th, the Boutwell Early Childhood Center will be accepting completed registration packets from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. Please drop off your completed packet in the registration bin at the main entrance.

For those who prefer an in-person appointment, we will have time slots available on March 8th during school hours. Please be sure to bring your completed registration packet to your appointment. To schedule an appointment, please use the contact Mrs. Sarah Atwater at 978-694-6070 or via email at sarah.atwater@wpsk12.com.

Kindergarten Screening

May 3rd - May 5th

Kindergarten screening is for our current preschool students transitioning to our kindergarten next year. Once our team processes your registration packet, we will contact you to schedule your child's screening appointment.

We will be celebrating Read Across America the week of February 27th. We will be participating in spirit days and activities each day. These days are meant to be a fun celebration of books and reading. Please do not purchase anything for these days.

Monday 2/27 - Pajama Day - Wear some cozy pajamas to school!

Tuesday 2/28 - Super Reader Day - Be just like your favorite superhero and wear your gear.

Wednesday 3/1 - Career Day - Dress up to match your future career.

Thursday 3/2 - Silly Sock Day - Wear some silly socks today!

Friday 3/3 - Hat Day - Choose any hat to wear all day long!

Our music teacher, Mrs. Barry would like to invite the parents/guardians of kindergarten students in Rooms 2, 6, & 8 to visit their music class on Wednesday, March 1, 2023. Your child's informance will take place during their scheduled music class. Due to space limitations, we kindly ask that one person attends for each student. Below are the times for each classroom.

Room 2 - 8:40 - 9:10 am

Room 6 - 9:50 - 10:20 am

Room 8 - 12:35 - 1:05 pm

Doors will open five minutes before the scheduled start time. We are excited to provide you with this opportunity and hope you can join us!

There is an early release day for all students on Wednesday, March 8th. Kindergarten students will be dismissed at 10:15 am. All morning preschool classes will be dismissed at 10:30 am. There will be no afternoon preschool classes on this date.

On Thursday, March 23rd only kindergarten students will have an early release day for parent/teacher conferences. All kindergarten students will be dismissed at 10:15 am. This will be a regularly scheduled school day for all morning and afternoon preschool classes.

On Saturday, March 11, 2023, from 9:00 am - 12:15 pm, we are hosting a parent/guardian learning event presented by the Wilmington Public Schools at Wilmington High School. Katie Greer, Internet Safety Expert will be our keynote speaker. There will also be a series of workshops offered on a variety of topics that are of interest to our families. The WPS STEM Fair is scheduled for Tuesday, March 28, 2023, from 5:30 - 7:30 pm in the Wilmington Middle School Cafeteria. Please download the flyer below for additional information.

This month, our school is participating in the Pennies for Patients program. During our community meeting, students will learn about kindness, empathy, bravery, and how working together for a common goal will help make a difference. Throughout the month of March, we will be collecting coins to donate to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Students are invited to bring in loose coins in a plastic bag to be added to our school collection. During the last week of March, we will participate in spirit days from March 27th - 30th. All students are welcome to participate and donations are not required.

Monday, March 27th - Penny Day

Put your pennies in the pocket of your letter "P" themed clothing (Patriots shirt, Paw Patrol shirt, prince/princess outfit, polka-dots, etc.)

Tuesday, March 28th - Neon Nickels Day

Bring in your nickels and wear your brightest neon colors!

Wednesday, March 29th - Dazzling Dimes Day

Donate dimes and wear something that makes you dazzle or shine!

Thursday, March 30th - Crazy Quarters Day

Wear your Boutwell T-shirt and send in quarters!

I'd like to thank our students and staff for creating beautiful kindness cards and artwork for our friends at the Buzzell Senior Citizen Center. The package will be delivered this week and I'm sure will put a smile on many faces!

The March PAC meeting will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023, beginning at 9:30 am. If interested in joining, please email Boutwellpac@gmail.com to receive the virtual invite.

The students and staff would like to thank the PAC for funding the author, David Biedrzycki's visit. The students were excited to meet him and loved hearing about how he became an author and illustrator. He was engaging, exciting, and very informative!

The Tanglewood Marionettes will be performing at the Boutwell on Monday, March 27th. Students will enjoy the Fairy Cirus performance and have an opportunity to ask questions at the end of the show.
