SPRING BREAK IN NORTHWEST ARKANSAS

Can you feel it? That warm breeze, the blooming flowers, and yes, the buzz of excitement in the air – spring is finally here! And with it comes that special time we've all been counting down to... spring break! It's the perfect pause in our busy lives for some unforgettable family fun.

Lucky for us, Northwest Arkansas is just bursting at the seams with activities, camps, and attractions tailor-made for families on break, not to mention our close proximity to several other day-trip areas!

If you're on the lookout for fun (and free!) things to do, or eager to explore the best family-friendly spots around Northwest Arkansas, you've hit the jackpot.

Macaroni Kid Blog has put together a guide to help us have some fun this spring break! This guide emphasizes the importance of family bonding and making lasting memories during spring break.

CORE VALUE COOPERATION

SAY IT:

Cooperation: Working together to do more than you can do alone

KNOW IT:

ASK A GROWN-UP:

•

Tell me about a time you had to work together with someone to accomplish a task.

•

What are some ways you have to cooperate with others at your job or in your family?

ASK A KID:

•

Would you rather work alone or in a group on an assignment at school?

•

Tell us about a time you had more fun when you worked with others on a project or chore.

SEE IT:

The Disney series, Phineas and Ferb, perfectly illustrates the benefits of cooperation. Phineas and Ferb are two step-brothers who create and build extraordinary projects every day. Among their creations are a roller coaster through town, a beach in their backyard, a time machine, a rocket ship, a haunted house, and the list goes on and on. One of the coolest things about their creations is that they rarely do it by themselves. In each episode, they enlist help from several of their friends and work together to do amazing things. Check out the first episode of Phineas and Ferb: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLWBx37eKBM. As you watch, notice how they work together to create something way better than they could have done on their own.

BE IT:

Get together with a group of friends or family members and come up with a project to work on together. You may want to build something cool, create a game to play, tackle a chore at your house, or even a service project to help someone in your community. Discuss how each person in your group can help make the project better and easier. As you work together, keep in mind: “Teamwork makes the dream work!”
