Principal's Update
Snacks at Lunch
Students in Grades 1 through Grade 5 will have the opportunity to purchase snacks at lunch. Each snack costs $0.60 and students are limited to purchasing one snack per day. Students must have enough money on their MySchoolBucks account in order to purchase a snack.
Deposits for MySchoolBuck accounts can be made through the Norwell Food Services website at https://www.norwellschools.org/Page/146.
Kindergarten students will be able to purchase snacks beginning in November.
Norwell CARES Day
Mark your calendars! Norwell High School's annual CARES Day is coming up, a special day when high schoolers head out into the community to connect, serve, and give back.
Vinal School is excited to be part of the fun again this year:
- Juniors from the high school will spend the day here at Vinal, spending time in classrooms and building relationships with our students as part of the Juniors-to-Juniors program (they'll also be visiting Cole School).
- Sophomores will be around our building too, pitching in on a few service projects to help spruce up the school.
Parent Pick-Up
If you're picking up your child(ren) at dismissal, please display your child(ren)'s last name in large, clear print on your driver-side windshield. This helps our staff identify and call students quickly and safely. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our dismissal process running smoothly!
Open House: Thursday, September 24
Please join us for Open House on Thursday, September 24, from 5:00–7:00 PM. This year's format will look a little different from previous years, so please note the schedule below carefully.
Grades 1 & 2: Families should gather in the gym for a brief welcome at 5:10 PM from the School Committee before heading to their child's classroom. This session will end promptly at 5:50 PM to free up parking for our 3rd–5th grade families.
Grades 3, 4, & 5: Families should arrive for a presentation in the gym beginning at 6:20 PM, after which they will head to their child's classroom until 7:00 PM.
We look forward to seeing you there!
We'll be going over expected behaviors with students ahead of Open House/Curriculum Night, but we'd appreciate it if you could also review these with your child before you arrive:
- Stay together as a family for the entire event — please, no running through the halls.
- Visit only your child's current classroom and specialist rooms. This allows last year's teachers to focus their time on their new students and families.

Hello! My name is Madison McCormack, and I am so happy to be at Vinal School this year. This is my fourth year as an occupational therapist. I grew up in Kingston, I just moved back to Plymouth after being in Colorado for a couple years with my fiance and our rescue dog who we adore. I’m getting married on October 3rd, so when I’m not at work you can find me stressed out at a craft store or picking up a facebook marketplace item! I love being an OT and I feel so lucky to be here.
