Dear Newport Schools Parents, Families, and Staff,

There are just six full school days away from the end of the 2024-2025 school year on June 20th! Please remember that there will be no school on Thursday, June 19th as we celebrate Juneteenth. Friday, June 20th will be a full day and the last day of the school year.

While we’re just about at the finish line, we still need all of our parents and students focused on Attendance Matters, Every Day! Our Rogers freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are now taking their final exams and there are so many fun classroom and field trip activities happening at all of our schools. Why wouldn’t our students want to be here?! So let’s close out with strong attendance through June 20th.

I want to send a big shout out and congratulations to our Rogers High School boys’ lacrosse team who took home the Division 4 State Championship on Monday evening with a 10-7 win against Scituate at Brown University Stadium in Providence. Go Vikings! 🥍

Our CTE successes are amazing and keep on going! See Kerry Clarke’s report with all the photos and celebrations starting on page 7 HERE.

Congratulations to our TMS JR Honor Society inductees! TMS is one of a handful of middle schools across the country that recognizes and honors our rising academic leaders. These 7th and 8th grade students demonstrated academic achievement (maintaining a 90% grade point average), leadership, honorable character, citizenship, and service (a minimum of 10 hours of community service).

Graduation is tomorrow evening at 6:00pm at Toppa Field, where our Rogers High School Class of 2025 seniors will proudly walk across the stage to receive their diplomas.🎓 This achievement is a testament to our students and your commitment as parents, guardians, and caretakers. It takes a village. Our teachers, administrators, paraeducators and all our staff in our building play a role each day supporting our students. So let’s all celebrate and be appreciative of our wonderful community and the support everyone gives to our students. Congratulations Class of 2025! We look forward to Thursday evening. I hope everyone enjoys a joyous graduation tomorrow evening!

Congratulations again to the Class of 2025! Enjoy your big graduation night. We are so proud of all of you.

Have a great week of learning everyone!

Senior Walk Through Day

A beloved tradition continued on Wednesday as our graduating Rogers seniors, adorned in their caps and gowns, returned to Pell and Thompson. They strolled through the familiar hallways, reconnected with their elementary and middle school teachers, and were met with enthusiastic high fives from Pell and TMS students. Senior Walk Through Day is a truly a wonderful tradition!
