HI PANTHER FAMILIES ❤️

Greetings Panther Families,

We have ended another successful week at Asa G. Hilliard. Thank you all for your support of the work we are doing here at home. We appreciate you! Thank you to those that were able to come out on Tuesday, November 4th for our fall parent conferences. If you were not able to come out, please be sure to reach out to your child's teacher to set up a conference prior to the Thanksgiving break. We need you and want to share your child's progress with you.

If you have any questions or concerns, our doors are always open to you. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We look forward to seeing you Monday with doors opening at 7:10am.

November Attendance

ALL IN ON ATTENDANCE – Show Up to Shine

With holidays approaching, maintaining strong attendance is key to finishing the semester successfully. Every day before break is a valuable learning day.

Missing just 1 week in November can cause students to lose up to 20% of a grading period’s content.

The late bell rings at 7:45am. Students should be in their classroom ready to learn at that time.

Please email turnerd4@fultonschools.org and copy your child’s teacher when your child is absent.

Family Support

Dear Families,

We recognize that many in our school community rely on SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) to help meet monthly food needs. The Georgia Department of Human Services has announced that November SNAP benefits may be delayed due to a pause in federal funding.

We understand this news may bring stress and uncertainty for some families. Please know you are not alone — our school and Fulton County Schools are here to support you.

To help families during this time, we are launching the ConnectFulton Food Initiative. We are partnering with food banks, churches, and community organizations across the county to ensure families have access to groceries and meals. A full list of nearby food resources is available HERE.

If your family has a critical need for food, clothing or shelter, please reach out to your School Social Worker, Ms. Cooper at cooperc8@fultonschools.org.

We are committed to ensuring our students and families have access to the necessary resources to promote the learning and well-being of our students. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need assistance or have questions. Thank you for being part of our caring school community.

Warmly,

Principal Walker

Strategies Under Consideration - Fulton County School System

Qustodio: A New Tool for Families to Monitor and Manage Your Child’s Online Activity

As part of our ongoing efforts to support digital safety, we’re excited to share that Fulton County Schools will launch Qustodio on October 20th, a free app that helps parents monitor and manage their child’s online activity. This tool gives families insight into how students use both district-issued and personal devices.

For district-issued devices:

Parents can see how much time their child spends online, which apps are being used, and what searches are conducted during the school day.
Families can also set time limits and restrictions outside of normal school hours to encourage healthy screen time habits.

For student personal devices (optional):

Parents can choose to install Qustodio on personal devices to monitor usage and set limits at home.
Fulton County Schools does not have any visibility or access to data from student or parent/guardian personal devices — that information is visible only to the parent or guardian who installs the app.

After October 20th, use this link: qustodio.com/my-school to begin Qustodio. Please use your Parent Portal email address during the sign-up process.

Thank you for helping us promote responsible digital habits and strengthen the partnership between home and school. For any questions or support, please contact myschool@qustodio.com.

New Transportation Changes Procedure

Student safety is our first priority and we have made some updates to our change of transportation procedure. All transportation changes must be done through our online transportation form or in person in the front office. We can no longer accept transportation changes via phone, email or Dojo. Please see the link to the form below and it can also be found on our school website.

REQUIREMENT-TARDY ARRIVAL

Any student that arrives tardy (after 7:40am) must have a parent/guardian come in to the front lobby to sign them in. Please refrain from allowing students to exit the vehicle prior to you coming to sign them in. This is for the safety of our students and to ensure all students are accounted for properly.

Breakfast/Lunch Reminders

Instruction begins at 7:40am daily. Please be sure that students arrive no later than 7:35am in order to have breakfast and get their day started. Breakfast service ends at 8am for all students.

Students that bring their lunch will not have access to a microwave. Please plan to preheat before school or pack food items that do not need to be heated.

TRACK THE BUS

Parents/guardians of students should download and use the Here Comes the Bus application. This application will give real-time information on your child's bus location.

DOWNLOAD INFINITE CAMPUS PORTAL

The Infinite Campus portals - Campus Parent and Campus Student - provides access to information for all enrolled students in their household. Information includes grades, attendance, assignments, and school announcements.

Note: Parents must register the first time they are accessing their account. All students have access to Campus Student via ClassLink.

Enter the Infinite Campus Student Portal via the ClassLink Icon below.

How do I set up my parent portal account?

All portal accounts require a 1-time activation to create your ID and password. You must be a parent/guardian of a current FCS student to activate an account.
