Blevins Bulletin

May 15th 2025 Principal's Message
Hello Blevins Families,
This week marked the completion of our end-of-year MAPs testing in Reading and Math, and we’re excited to share that our students showed strong growth across the board! It’s a true testament to their hard work, as well as the dedication of our teachers and support staff. Way to go, Bruins!
We’re also kicking off concert season. Tonight, our talented Orchestra students take the stage, and we’re looking forward to celebrating all of our music programs in the coming days. These performances are always a highlight of the year—thank you to our music teachers and student musicians for sharing your gifts with us!
Today, we also welcomed our newest WEB leaders from the 7th grade, who learned from our outstanding current 8th grade WEB leaders in preparation for next year. It’s inspiring to see students stepping up to support one another and build a positive school culture. Just a reminder: there is no school tomorrow, and next week is our final full week of the year. We're going to finish this great year strong!
Proudly,
Joe Zappa, Principal

Library Book Return Reminder
Hello Blevins Families,
We need your help! 90 library books still need to be returned to the library!
If your student has a library book out, please help your student to thoroughly search at home, in the car, in backpacks, and lockers.
To make returns even easier, Mrs. Laird is visiting ELA classrooms to collect books directly from students. The library's book return bin is also always available for drop-offs.
Books not returned by the end of the 2024–2025 school year will need to be paid for, so we can replace them and continue offering a great selection in our library. Fines appear on your student’s School Pay account, but will be automatically waived once the book is returned.
If you have any questions about lost library books or fines, email Mrs. Laird at glaird@psdschools.org.
Thank you for supporting our library and helping keep it well-stocked for all students!
Warm regards,
Grace Laird
Media Technology Assistant

End of the Year Medication Pickup
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Medications cannot be sent home with students at the end of the school year. Parents must pick up all medications on or before the last day of school. Medications must be picked up by noon on the last day of school 5/29/25.
If medications need to be picked up before the last day of school, make arrangements with Becca Dahl 488-4007 rdahl@psdschools.org. Emergency or as-needed medications (Epi-pens, Tylenol, Inhalers, etc.) must also be picked up. The school nurse will follow state health department procedures and dispose of medications if they are not picked up.
If medications will be brought back to the school in the fall, you may obtain a medical authorization form from Becca Dahl 488-4007 rdahl@psdschools.org or on the PSD website. Please note that forms for the following school year must be dated after 7/31/2025.
If you have any questions, please contact Becca Dahl 488-4007 rdahl@psdschools.org.
