Social Emotional Learning News

Welcome Back, Huckleberry Heroes!
I don't know about you but summer seemed to fly by and I cannot believe that we are gearing up for another fabulous school year! A highlight from my summer was celebrating my daughter's First Birthday! I hope you all had a wonderful summer and are ready for all the fun and learning that is in store for us!
My name is Gabriela Brennet and I am the School Adjustment Counselor at Huckleberry Hill School. This is my fourth year here and I am very excited to be back! I work closely with teachers and families to help support student social emotional needs. My goal is to help every student feel happy, safe, and ready to learn while at school! If your child is in need of support, the first step is to reach out to their teacher. From there, we will work together to explore ways to best help your child.
Be on the lookout for monthly SEL newsletters with articles, information, and resources for students and families throughout this school year! I look forward to seeing all of our Huckleberry Heroes on the first day of school!
Lynn Lyons Podcast: Best of Back to School: Let Your Kids Fail; Don't Let them Drown
Lynn Lyons is an international speaker and psychotherapist based in Concord, New Hampshire who helps children and families manage anxiety disorders. This includes learning to let a child fail and what the difference is between failing and "drowning" in school and in life. While this episode is from last year, the information is still relevant today as we prepare for back to school.
"Good Inside" Podcast with Dr.Becky: Back to School Anxiety
