Dear Families,

Get ready—the Scholastic Book Fair is coming to your school! This is a great opportunity to connect

with your child over the thrill of bringing home new books to dive into again and again.

Studies show that kids read more when they choose books for themselves. And fostering a love of independent reading leads to a wide variety of benefits—including academic success and improved mental health.

Many of us still remember the rush of finding the perfect book at a Scholastic Book Fair. I hope you’ll join your child at your school’s Fair and share a reading experience they’ll remember forever.

Here are a few quick reminders to help everything run smoothly during Book Fair week!

• Shopping with Families: Students are welcome to shop before or after school (7:30–8:00 AM and 2:30–3:00 PM) as long as they are accompanied by an adult. Visiting grown-ups just need to sign in at the front office first!
• Shopping During the Day: Students not with an adult will shop during their scheduled library time. If a student brings shopping money on a non-library day, please send a quick note so their teacher knows to send them to the Book Fair.
• Library Pause: There will be no book check-outs or returns during Book Fair week. Please encourage your students to keep their library books safe at home or inside their backpacks until the fair wraps up.

On the homepage, you will find a link to our Online Book Fair. In The Scholastic Store, families will find everything available at the Book Fair and much, much more! Choose from thousands of books, including new releases and exclusives, and search by grade, age, format, character and series. All online orders ship direct to home, and standard shipping is free on book-only purchases over $35.

We accept the following forms of payment at our Book Fair: cash, credit/debit cards, eWallet, and checks made payable to Crosswell Elementary.

Please keep in mind that a 7% sales tax will be added to all purchases (this is not included in the prices shown on the flyer). If sending a check with your student, please be sure the total amount includes this 7% tax.

On the homepage there is a link to set up a Book Fair eWallet, the digital payment account that allows your child to shop for books at the Fair without cash. Families can share their eWallet link so friends and extended family can add funds as well.

When you fund an eWallet, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to a giving initiative called

Share the Fair™. Your contributions directly support our students and school, making a wonderful impact across our entire learning community!

Along with books, a fun variety of non-book items will be available at the Fair, including pens, highlighters, erasers, bookmarks, markers, stickers, pointers, posters, and science or craft kits!

A Quick Note on Non-Book Items:

If you would prefer that your child only buy books, please send a note with them to school and let them know your expectations ahead of time, as all sales are final.
