This newsletter provides updates, information and event details for Horace Mann School, the Horace Mann School Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), and Saint Paul Public Schools. Horace Mann School students and staff will celebrate a winter spirit week from Monday, December 15 to Friday, December 19. Please check the schedule below for our activities.

• December 15: Crazy Sock Day
• December 16: Favorite Sports Team Day
• December 17: Hallway Color Day (Purple Gr 5, Red Gr 4, Dark Blue Gr 3, Light Blue Gr 2, Green Gr 1, Orange Kindergarten)
• December 18: Throwback Thursday..70’s tie dye and neon
• December 19: Pajama Day

Our Year 2 band students will be performing for students during lunch on Monday, December 15. A small number of seats will be available for families if you wish to attend. Not sure if it includes your child? Email Ms. Bella (isabella.marek@spps.org).

Please avoid driving on Wilder between Eleanor and Bayard until 7:30am. With the snow and bus traffic, it is becoming quite dangerous. Please drop off only on Bayard and Kenneth. We do NOT want families parking on the house side of Wilder during the winter for drop off. Ms. Cole and Mr. Litwin will continue to direct traffic away from this area. Thank you for your assistance.

Just a reminder that School Patrol in the morning will be canceled, if the air temperature and/or wind chill is, or is expected to be, -15 degrees or colder at 7am that morning. Since it usually warms up throughout the day, School Patrols will likely resume afternoon responsibilities. If it will still be too cold in the afternoon, a message will be sent out to families, informing them that afternoon School Patrol will be canceled.

Also, please make sure School Patrols are properly dressed for the cold weather. That includes warm jackets, hats, gloves/mittens, and boots. There have been cold days already when they were outside without gloves and hats.
