A Message From Mrs. O'Brien
Dear Lincoln Early Learning Center Families,
As we move into the final days of November, our preschoolers continue to impress us with their curiosity, enthusiasm, and growing independence. Each day, we see them experimenting, collaborating, and showing pride in their accomplishments. Their joyful energy fills our classrooms!
Last Day for Class T-Shirt Orders
Today is the FINAL day to order our preschool class t-shirts!
These shirts are a wonderful way for students to show their Lincoln pride, and we want everyone to have the opportunity to be included. Please see the flier below for ordering details. Thank you to all who have already submitted orders!
Parent/Teacher Conferences
We are looking forward to our upcoming Fremont, Hawthorn, and Tri-District Classroom Parent-Teacher Conferences. These conferences provide a valuable opportunity to connect, share updates, and discuss your child’s growth and experiences at school.
Our New Mission, Vision, and Values
During last week’s Institute Day, our staff focused on the newly created Lincoln Mission, Vision, and Values, thoughtfully developed by our building’s Instructional Leadership Team. These guiding statements reflect who we are as a school community and the environment we strive to create for every child.
You can now see the Mission, Vision, and Values proudly on display in the foyer. We invite you to take a look the next time you visit!
Mission
Lincoln is committed to ensure learning for all. We are an inclusive community, driven by excellence and innovation, to foster the success of every student to their full potential.
Vision
We envision a strong, unified community that celebrates every child’s differences and empowers them to be curious, caring, and confident lifelong learners who always try their best and respond to the world with kindness.
Values
-
Ready to learn
-
Our differences are special
-
Always try your best
-
Respond with kindness
We are excited to embed these shared beliefs into our daily work with students and to continue building a nurturing, inclusive school community.
As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, we want to extend our warmest wishes to you and your families. We are grateful for your partnership, support, and the joy your children bring to our school each day. We hope your break is filled with rest, connection, and moments of gratitude.
Warm regards,
Katie O’Brien

A Note from the Health Office
Absences
If your child will be absent from school because of illness, doctors’ appointments or vacation, please contact us at Lincoln at 847-949-2720. Please notify the school office by 9:30 a.m. the day of the absence to leave a recorded message regarding your child's absence. Keeping track of all the students on a daily basis is a huge task and we greatly appreciate your prompt attention.
Medical Forms
Annual Physical Examinations are required within the first 30 days of entering preschool. All forms can be emailed, faxed, or brought in with your student. If we do not receive your child’s physical, your child will be excluded from school and cannot return to school until submitted. Per IL State Law we must have a child’s physical by October 15 or within 30 days of starting preschool.
Illness and Injuries
Please remember that any child with a fever should stay home until they have been fever free without the use of fever-reducing medication, for at least 24 hours.
Students should also remain home if they are experiencing vomiting or diarrhea. Students may NOT return to school for at least 24 hours after the last episode.
The health office must have current telephone numbers for parents and designated emergency contact persons. Please select your emergency contacts carefully. This person should be familiar with your child, your family routine, and be available to transport your child home if necessary.
Please pre-plan for a telephone call from the health office. If your child becomes ill at school, you are responsible for picking up your child within 30 minutes of the call.
Medications
All medications, feeding, and treatment supplies are to be supplied by the parent per school policy.
Doctor’s orders for medications, feedings, and treatments are required at the beginning of each school year. The school nurse will not accept or administer any medications (including over the counter medications) or perform nursing services or treatments without a doctor’s order.
Any questions related to the above health office guidelines should be directed to the health office staff.
