Updates and Info from Dr. T
Farley Elementary School - January 30, 2026
Warmer weather please!
Be on the lookout for survey invitations coming home soon as we begin our Blue Ribbon process. Your feedback helps tell the Farley story and keeps our Falcons soaring in the right direction! While February may be a shorter month, it is one of our most academically focused times of the year, with strong learning taking flight in every classroom. Thank you for partnering with us and supporting our Falcon family!

All-State Choir
Congratulations to two of our very own 5th Graders, Kennedy Snodgrass and Jalayah Richardson! They represented Farley Elementary this past Friday at the Alabama Elementary All-State Choir held in Birmingham at the AMEA Conference. They spent the past few months preparing music for the choir and spent all day Friday rehearsing before a phenomenal performance at the concert!
School Board Appreciation

Kindess Challenge
Next week, January 26–30, our school will take part in The Great Kindness Challenge (TGKC)—a signature, week-long initiative designed to create a culture of compassion in PreK–12 schools around the world. Guided by the motto “Kindness Matters,” students will be encouraged to practice acts of kindness big and small. Smile! Show us your KIND! Families are invited to send in photos of their children showing kindness at school, at home, or in the community. We’ll proudly display these photos in our hallway to celebrate the caring hearts that make our school so special. Let’s come together and show what kindness looks like in our community!

Paper Chase 5K
Interested in some family fun that could possibly earn money for our school? Join Farley Elementary's Paper Chase 5K team! The race is February 28th located in Downtown Huntsville. Paper Chase is sponsored by Free to Teach which is a great program that helps our teachers get the supplies they need during the school year! There are two race sign up options (one for teachers, staff, and students and one for non-school kids and adults). Register by January 31st for a T-shirt! **Registration ends February 25th**
Not an experienced runner or hate running? NO PROBLEM! This race is all about enjoying time out in downtown Huntsville with family and friends and walking is also allowed! Be sure to include Farley Elementary when picking to "Join a Team" on the registration page. If our school can get the most runners/walkers participating, we could win $1,500 for our library and technology needs!

Greetings families!
We are pleased to announce that our school received an "A" on our Report Card Score. This is the 3rd year in a row that Farley has received an A - this year a 90. Our Report Card score is based on our ACAP results (Grades 3-5) and our percentage of students that maintain excellent attendance.
Attendance
Parents may excuse only 8 days for the entire school year.
Parents - remember that excuse notes must be submitted promptly. The HCS expectation is that within 3 days, a parent or doctor's note is submitted to the school. After 8 excused absences (not individual notes), students must have a doctor's note. A student checked out before 11:30AM is considered absent unless they check back in.

Chronic Absenteeism is defined as a student missing 18 or more days for the school year (or 10% of enrolled days), regardless of reason.
